First Pulsar withdrawn

Two Pulsar 12A cruisers are being withdrawn this year and C107 India is the first of them. It was hoped it would be available in reserve until the Summer but a reactor leak while at dock in orbit around Solaris has prompted the DDS to withdraw it now. A DDS Engineering spokesman said that the reactor had been shut down when the leak was detected and there was minimal radiation leaked out, no crew were affected.

The leak was repaired temporarily but restarting the reactor, fixing the leak properly to allow space flight and decontaminating the ship would cost around 4 million zarks and it wasn't worth doing so for a ship due to be withdrawn anyway in a few months. The ship will now be stripped for spares to keep the rest of the fleet going until 2112.
