Repic open to joining Commonwealth of Interstellar Nations

The Repicans, a hyper capitalistic Saurian nation who have been aligned to the Bolitic Confederacy in the past, have made overtures to the Commonwealth of Interstellar Nations about joining. A senior Financial Officer of Repic has visited Castarian and met with Emperor Melson. Senator El Diablo also attended the meeting.

Whilst it is unlikely the Repicans could join the CIN in the short to medium term, it is possible Repic could join the Saurian Alliance - a sub-grouping which consists of the Dino Republic and Bolitic Confederacy.

MBH discusses Saurian Alliance

Emperor MBH has been quizzed about the Saurian Alliance in a public session of the Dino Senate. MBH said that at the moment the Alliance's members consisted of the Dino Empire and Bolitic Confederacy but other Saurian civilisations like the Sirikwanese and Repicans would be free to apply to join. MBH said the Alliance would be a loose-knit group of powers with a non-aggression pact and would act in mutual self-interest. He did not think the Alliance would, in the short term at least, evolve into anything more.

MBH was asked about the Dino Trade Association and whether the Saurian Alliance replaced it. MBH said this would not be the case, the DTA and Alliance would operate independently. The DTA included non-Saurian members and MBH did not think they should join the Alliance.

MBH said the first priority was to win the war against the Terrasaurs, he said that the Bolitic would help the Dinos hold the line then later in the year they could go on the offensive.

Voth deny making overtures to the Terrasaurs

The Voth government has strenuously denied that it has made overtures to the Terrasaurs about surrending, maybe even voluntarily leaving the DTA. However, Dino media is reporting that a Repican merchant who trades with the Terrasaurs was contacted about approaching them with the Voth offer. The Repican refused to comply, saying it might hurt his business.

Censor Ronald said he will visit Voth in a few days and will offer them the full support of the Dino Empire, though as yet that support is not in the form of more troops.

Terrasaur ship attacks Repicans

The Dinos are going to send a ship to investigate space beyond the DTA near Apassara after the reported attack of a Repican merchant ship by the Terrasaurs. Although the attack took place some lightyears away from Apassara a Terrasaur ship was detected here last month.

The Dinos are also preparing to send a detachment of ships and troops to Voth to reinforce the DTA forces in the area.

DDS to have talks with Repicans

The DDS has sent a mid-level diplomatic team to Repic to begin diplomatic relations with the Saurian planet. The Repicans are known to be a highly mercantilist society and therefore perhaps see profit in relations with the DDS. However as the Repicans are enemies of the Dinos (the Repicans joined the Bolitic during the ABBO-Bolitic War and remain Bolitic allies) a meeting with the DDS is not going down too well in Dino circles.

The DDS have stressed that this is just low-level "talks about talks" and that any alliances with the Repicans are unlikely.

Bolitic link up with Repicans

The Repicans, a merchantist faction of Saurians, have been Bolitic allies for some time and also joined in during the ABBO-Bolitic War (though they did not do that well). The Repicans however have now signed a defence treaty with the Bolitic that will allow the Repicans access to Bolitic ports (and vice versa) as well as shared intelligence.

Coming hot on the heels of the Vosun-Voth integration Dino observers are warning of a change in Bolitic strategic direction. Emperor Melson has managed to put down the rivalry of Erinthorn and his fellow imperial houses that lie away from Castarian. Erinthorn has pledged his loyalty to Melson and the Bolitic armed forces are restoring their abilities after their disastrous losses in the ABBO-Bolitic War.

Melson is thought to want to create a Bolitic led rival to the Dino Trade Association, some wags in the Dino media said it probably wouldn't be called the BTA though!
