Utrek accuse Dinos of violating space, damaging ship

The Utrek are accusing the Dinos of violating Utrek space near to the border with the Remedian Belt. The Dinos are not denying that one of their ships did enter Utrek space, which they said was due to a navigational error and the Dino ship quickly left Utrek space.

However, the Utrek are also saying that the Dinos attacked a Utrek warship causing damage to it, which resulted in a number of serious injuries. The Dinos are denying they attacked the Utrek. They said that they detected some old mines of unknown origin in the area and have suggested that the Utrek hit them.

DF to strengthen forces along Remedian flank

UNDF will send three more ships to strengthen it's presence in the Remedian Belt. The ships will be stationed at Remedia Prime and will perform patrols along the Remedian-Utrek border. Although the Utrek have not noticeably caused any issues for the Remedians, there is the worry this could change.

The Remedians have said UNDF should consider joining a grand coalition against the Utrek, though that itself is starting to fade away after the Clones said they are also not in a position to join in.

Torus rules out UNDF being involved in anti-Utrek action

UNDF Commander Torus has said that UNDF will not be involved in any near-future coalition against the Utrek unless UNDF is attacked itself. There has been talk lately of a grand coalition of the CIN, Clones, Raegris and UNDF joining up to take on the Utrek (though not through any official channels).

Torus said that the UNDF Space Navy is not in a position to take part in any long-range offensive operation. She said that the fleet was badly degraded during the MBO regime and war, the fleet has only recently got back to a minimum strength level to cover major commitments.

"The fleet is continuing to rebuild but will not be in a position to even think about such an operation until the early 2130s. Not that there has been any actual concrete objectives stated." Torus said.

Anderson says Clones would join force against Utrek

Admiral Anderson has said that the Clone Defence Forces would take part in a multi-national force against the Utrek. He said that it was clear the Utrek had interfered in the CSE-E. However, he acknowledged that the Clone Space Navy is not yet strong enough to face the Utrek alone in an offensive operation. He said that if the CIN and UNDF took part they would be strong enough to defeat the Utrek!

The Raegris are lobbying hard for such an operation. They are warning that the Utrek are regenerating their fleet quickly and within 15 years, maybe 10, they will be too strong for the Local Group to face even together.

DF attacked by suspected Utrek agent

A DF ship, thought to be SS Jurassic commanded by Caratore, has been attacked by a strange cargo ship which it is suspected was crewed by a Utrek agent. The transport, which appeared to be an ancient Tarbotian type ship was intercepted in the DMZ. UNDF officers boarded the ship and found a human crew woman. However, this turned out to be a shapeshifter alien who killed the three UNDF officers.

The "ancient" ship was then found to be heavily upgraded. After a brief skirmish, Caratore ordered a retreat due to being outgunned. They were pursued by the cargo ship but managed to destroy it using their SROPS, which was destroyed.

SS Jurassic has returned to Aldebra for repairs. DF are analysing the sensor data from the incident and say they have detected Utrek type energy signatures. Shapeshifters, an alien species heard about by DF though not yet encountered, are known to be used by the Utrek Jintara Omox secret service.

Raegris call for attack on Utrek!

The Raegris has said that the Utrek are still greatly weakened after their catastrophic war with the Mantae but are rebuilding fast. The Raegris report on the Utrek says that in 15 years they estimate the Utrek will have restored their fleet to the pre-war levels (though much more powerful as older types like the Kalahati Tuul no longer exist). Maybe in 10 years the Utrek will be a direct threat.

The Utrek have said that the UNDF, CIN and Clones should join forces (with the Raegris) and attack the Utrek before it is too late. It is unlikely such an attack will occur though the Clones are furious at Utrek alleged involvement in the CSE-E uprising.

Utrek deny supplying Eritran rebel groups

The Utrek Federation has said that they have not been involved in supplying rebel groups in the Clone Star Empire - East. However, they said they could not rule out private groups or other powers using Utrekian ships or agents for their own ends.

UNDF has meanwhile reported on an incident where an alien of unknown identity was able to lure three UNDF officers, including the second officer of the SS Jurassic, to their deaths. The alien was killed though it is thought the alien may have been trying to destroy the Jurassic and harm the blockade. UNDF are considering sending more ships to the area.

Dinos and UNDF uncover evidence Utrek behind supplying some Eritran rebels

After the capture of several Utrek registered transports in the Clone Demilitarised Zone carrying suspected materials for rebels on planets such as Rendrial 4, the Dino SS and UNDF-IS held a joint investigation. It is understood a Utrek broke under interrogation by the gentlemen of the SS to reveal he is a Jintara Omox operative (the Utrek secret service).

Whilst it was clear (though never acknowledged) that Freedom Miliaris was supplied directly by Molab, who supplied the other smaller rebel factions in the CSE-E was never fully established. Now it appears that the Utrek may have been supplying rebels on planets like Rendrial 4 and Laalande 21649. If this is the case then it has very serious implications for the security of the Clones and in general for that region of space.

A Clone Intelligence team is heading to Starbot to meet with their Dino and UNDF counterparts.

Dinos report new Utrek warship type

The Dinos have reported a new type of Utrek warship which entered service earlier this year and is now in series production. The Yamtok Tuul is a smaller ship than the Molentic and Reptoli Tuuls and is intended to rebuild the Utrek fleet replacing the now almost extinct Kalahati Tuul.

The Yamtok Tuul has been encountered by a Dino ship, the report does not state where. The Yamtok Tuul is said to be light cruiser class but uses the weapon system from the Molentic Tuul thus is powerful. The Yamtok is said to include some new technologies never deployed by the Utrek before including active EM stealth and the Utrek equivalent of the TPM, a quad-phase cluster warhead missile.

Hundreds of Yamtok Tuuls are expected to be built over the next decade.

New Utrek Federation begins to flex it's muscles

The New Utrek Federation, which comprises nearly two thirds of the former Utrek territory (much of the remaining was left a wasteland by the Mantae), has put on an impressive display of it's growing power after a fleet of twenty brand new Molentic Tuuls performed a pass of the new orbital HQ over Korel. Korel is said to be the new capital planet of the Utrek, the former capital Urlik Utrekia still suffering the effects of orbital bombardment during the war.

The Utrek claimed six production lines were now operational with up to thirty Molentic Tuuls, a dozen Reptoli Tuuls and a score of a new smaller patrol ship said to be in construction. NS has been unable to confirm this.

Rahmanesh 7 joins New Utrek Federation

The battered Rahmanesh 7 has officially joined the New Utrek Federation, the successor state to the Urik Utrek Federation which collapsed following the Mantae war. The new federation now comprises some 57% of the old one, though most of the missing territory has been either annexed by the Mantae or wiped out during the war.

The New Utrek Federation are slowly rebuilding their military power, twenty Molentic Tuuls are said to be in advanced state of construction along with a dozen or so Reptoli Tuuls. A new mid-size ship to replace the many lost Kalahati Tuuls on secondary duties is said to be in development. Possibly this ship will be called the Rahmanesh Tuul (the Utrek name their ship classes after planets in the federation).

Bolitic withdraw entirely from Utrek space

The Bolitic Confederacy has completed it's withdrawal of forces from Rahmenesh 7 and Utrek space. However they managed to look the treasury of Rahmenesh before they went and took an estimated six billion zarks worth of gold!

It is now likely that Rahmenesh 7 will join the fledgling New Utrek Federation. They had been one of the minor Utrek powers to have held out but the wrecked state of their armed forces and finances after the Bolitic attack may now force them to join.

Bolitic agree ceasefire on Rahmenesh 7

The Bolitic have agreed a ceasefire with New Utrek Federation representatives and officers from the Rahmenesh 7 armed forces. The Bolitic have control of the Rahmenesh capital though little else of the planet.

Under the terms of the ceasefire the Bolitic will withdraw all forces from the planet and the Rahmenesh system. It is thought Rahmenesh have paid the Bolitic a sum of money to facilitate their withdrawal.

The Bolitic Emperor Melson has proclaimed the short campaign a great victory.

NUF demands Bolitic withdraw from Rahmenesh 7

The New Utrek Federation has demanded the Bolitic Confederacy withdraw from Rahmenesh 7. Bolitic troops have control of the capital and have destroyed most of the Rahmenesh fleet. Although Rahmenesh is not a member of the NUF they are still ethnic Utrek.

It is not known what the Bolitic's aims are for Rahmenesh, they haven't deployed enough forces to conquer the planet. One analyst thinks Melson just wants a show of strength to shore up his support back at home.

Bolitic launch invasion of Rahmanesh 7

Earlier today the Rahmanesh detected a Bolitic fleet entering it's system, three hour later their own fleet was lying in ruins and Bolitic warships were launching a merciless bombardment on the planet. The Rahmanesh capital was devastated along with a number of key military bases.

Thousands of Bolitic slave soldiers led by Bolitic warriors were transported to the surface and captured the capital. The leaders of the Rahmanesh Free Republic have either been killed or captured though fighting continues across the planet.

Bolitic warships attack Utrek successor state

Bolitic warships have attacked two ships of the Rahmanesh Free Republic, one of the successor states to the Urlik Utrek Federation. The RFR is a rather minor entity consisting of just Rahmanesh 7 and a few mining colonies. It has resisted becoming part of the new looser New Utrek Federation formed last year.

It is not known why the Bolitic have attacked though there was a report that 30 Bolitic military advisers were arrested and executed by the RFR last year. The RFR later accused the Bolitic of trying to overthrow the government.

Operation Long Patrol 2119

The latest edition of Long Patrol, an exercise in long-range patrol and operations, is underway though the ships involved began their journeys last month. Deployment LP2119A has headed off to space between Vega and the former Utrek Federation. It will be met by deployment LP2119B next week where refuelling and resupply exercises will take place.

New Utrek Federation to be formed

Following a period of chaos after the crippling defeat at the hands of the Mantae and the devastation of their capital planet the Utrek Federation is starting to come together again though in a more decentralised form.

The various competing warlords and factions have been overthrown by war weary citizens and six successor states have formed plus a number of independent (though rather minor) worlds. These six states have met to form a new looser Utrek Federation.

The six states are:

Voltiga-Molentic Republic
Korel Independent State
New Utrek Union
Utrel Prime
Urlik Mentenna Union
Eastern Republic

Of the states the Korel have formed an alliance with the UNP and it is hoped this will help New Sparta develop relationships with the rest of tht Utrek, though the Voltiga-Molentic Republic are still fairly hostile, being in an alliance with the Bolitic.

The new Utrek Federation is likely to have a rotating presidency and remain a loose trade and co-operation body with the successor states going it alone in other areas including defence. New Sparta is already negotiating a huge ship order with the Korel.

Ecological disaster reported on Molentic

Utrek sources are reporting that a planet wide ecological disaster has occurred on Molentic, the capital planet of one of the Utrek successor states. It is thought a large nuclear power station may have exploded due to poor maintenance irradiating the main agricultural area of the planet.

The power station disaster is reported to have been contained but Molentic's main problem is that most of it's agricultural lands are now useless and the harvest unusable. The Molentic authorities are desperately trying to find emergency foot supplies off-world.

NS acknowledge links with Utrek faction

NS has acknowledged it is working with a Utrek successor state - the Korel Kingdom, though denies it has a formal agreement. Instead it says there have been talks and some military assistance.

However a rival state the Voltiga Utrek Republic (one of the most powerful successor factions) has said NS have attacked their ships and stolen a valuable shipment of ore on behalf of the Korel. NS has denied this.
