New insurgency on Teriatri 7

Teriatri 7 is a quiet planet in the Rim Worlds part of the Clone Star Empire... until now. Yesterday, six locations on the planet, including the main military communication hub were hit by mortar fire and in one case a car bomb. A dozen soldiers have been reported killed.

The attacks may have been made by Zones who have been settled on the planet. There have been reports that many Zones are unhappy at being dumped in ghettos across the CSE. If so, this is a very serious situation for the Clones.

Dinos consider changes to defence organisation

During the recent incident where a hijacked Kelsan bomber attacked Dino-Land with missiles loaded with a deadly bio-agent the Senate and other senior government and military figures were evacuated to SS-One on Jeloka as per emergency protcol.

That did leave the question as to who should be in charge of Dino-Land defence. With the defence minister Malanson on SS-One, Censor Ronald made the last minute decision to leave Foreign minister Zanus in charge of the Dino defence forces (Zanus was a former defence minister and 6th Legion old warrior).

However, Emperor MBH and Censor Ronald are considering whether there should be a dedicated senior minister for the defence of the Dino-Land system to reduce delays. MBH has also ordered that Dino forces in the system be kept to a higher alert status for the foreseeable future. A committee has been formed to examine the possibility of future Zone led attacks.

Clones honour crew of hijacked Kelsan

The bodies of the crew of the Kelsan bomber hijacked by terrorists and used to attempt an attack on the Dinos have been honoured on Cloneworld. The twelve Clones and two Daggas were honoured by Eternal Leader Oojok. He said that new security protocols would ensure that such an event would not happen again.

The Clones are also looking into adding a bio-security improvements for the Kelsan fleet which is due a mid-life upgrade soon. The Clones say they have reviewed the black box from the wreckage of the Kelsan and can see that the ship ventilation system is vulnerable to a bio or chemical attack. This will be changed in the upgrade.

The Clones also blamed Zone terrorists for the attack and are increasing their monitoring of Zone groups.

Disaster averted by Dinos and Clones

The stolen Kelsan KS bomber has been intercepted and destroyed before it could launch it's payload of biological weapon loaded missiles at Dino-Land. If the attack had taken place it could have killed millions due to the incredibly toxic level of the biological weapon (thought to be stolen military grade Utrek material).

Zone renegrades had stolen the Kelsan and were planning to launch the attack. The Clones worked with the Dinos to avert a catastrophe which could have sent the Local Group into full scale war.

CDF forms Zone Legion

The Clone Defence Forces has formally added the Zone Legion to the Clone Army. This unit, which consists of an armoured brigade, five infantry brigades, three transport brigades and an artillery regiment, is drawn entirely of Zone personnel drawn entirely from Zone refugees who were resettled on Colom after the devastation of Zoneland by the DDS.

The Zone Legion has become part of the Taragargi Division of the CDF. Much of the legion will be used to protect Colom though some brigades have been allocated to Teriatri 7 and Geulis.

Zoneland may be habitable again soon

At a recent science conference the team attempting to make Zoneland, which suffered a catastrophic nuclear attack, habitable again announced they have made major breakthroughs with new geoengineering technology. A timetable of decades until the planet is barely habitable has been reduced to years.

This is of vital importance to the Clone Star Empire because of the mineral wealth that is on the planet, said to be worth trillions of zarks, cannot be extracted due to the levels of radiation. The CSE Science Academy said that limited mining could begin in five years.

Terrorist incident at Proxima Space Museum

NSIS has reported an attempted terrorist incident at the Proxima Space Museum has been foiled. Two Clones were shot while trying to destroy the iconic former DDS cruiser SS Pulsar. A museum worker was shot by the Clones and is in a serious but stable condition. NSIS say the incident is not linked to other recent terror attacks.

An NSIS spokeswoman said it was thought the Clones were former HCS officers with a grudge. A Zone employed by the museum was arrested by NSIS while trying to escape the space station and is currently being questioned.

Progress made on Zoneland environment

When Zoneland was devastated by a DDS nuclear attack (which included cobalt-60 warheads) the planet was thought to be uninhabitable for millennia. However a Clone science team has begun experimental geo-engineering techniques on the planet (similiar to terraforming) which it is hoped could render Zoneland at least marginally habitable within a few decades.

Zoneland has rich mineral deposits but is so irradiated that mining operations are very hazardous and expensive. The Clones are keen to reduce the radiation threat to help them exploit Zoneland's wealth which was ceded to the Clone Star Empire in return for the Clones giving refuge to the bulk of the surviving Zone population. Several million Zones still live on Colom in camps.

While most Zones are fairly peaceful an extremist faction known as New Zoneland Now (NZN) is threatening to take over Colom and make it "New Zoneland". NZN vow to kill all humans and any aliens linked to the DDS if they gain control of Colom (Clones would be allowed to leave unharmed). The Clone authorities are hoping that the prospect of Zoneland being habitable again (even if remote) could weaken NZN which is growing in strength in the Zone camps.

Clones begin efforts to restore Zoneland

The Clones have begun what will be a long (and potentially expensive though they arn't spending much yet) programme to restore Zoneland to habitability. The planet was devastated by a saturation nuclear attack by the DDS forcing the Zone population to flee, many now living on the Clone planet of Colom in camps.

The most lethal radiation had a very short half-life but the biosphere of the planet was wrecked and little can survive there at the moment. The Clones have established an orbital science base over the planet and will explore various decontamination efforts.

HCS Space Navy Marines formed

The HCS Space Navy Marines have been formed by transferring the 4 Red Lizard Space Warfare battalions from the army to the Space Navy. Three of the 4 battalions have formed the 1st Space Marine Brigade with the 4th being kept as a reserve/training unit. The Space Marines will form on-board protection on HCS warships and boarding parties for offensive action. The HCS Space Navy is to greatly increase its ability to insert troops onto enemy ships with major warships have beefed up teleporter arrays.

The Zones, who have very successfully used this tactic for years in their piracy activities, are understood to be assisting the Clones with the formation of these new tactics.

• The first landing in the July Wave "mini-exercise" is due to take place this weekend on the Remedian border planet of Bintang. The DDS detachment will be joined by 2 ships from the RCPP tomorrow as well as a transport carrying 2 companies of Remedian troops from the 4th Light Brigade who will take part in the landings.

Remnants of Zone pirate nation flee to HCS

Three Zone pirate ships have arrived at Colom in the Clone Star Empire laden with Zone civilians, said to be the last remnants of the Zone pirate nation which the Dinos have almost totally wiped out in recent operations. The three battered ships were carrying some 4,202 survivors which is said to be the sole survivors from a nation that up until a few weeks ago numbered nearly 200,000.

The shell-shocked survivors have asked for political asylum in the CSE and join the other Zones now trying to integrate with the empire. As yet the Clones have not said if they will accept the Zones but it is likely given the small number.

Dinos "complete cleansing of Zones"

The Dinos have made a second attack on a planet in the Rim Worlds, Efaseu 32B, which was the site of a Zone pirate base. The base and several habitation rings on the (atmosphere-less) planet were destroyed in an attack by the SS forces under the command of Ronald. 7 Zone ships were also destroyed along with an orbital maintenance platform. Two Dinomark XTs are reported to have been destroyed.

The Dino fleet is now returning to Dino-Land. The vast majority of the Zone pirate fleet has been destroyed and their population butchered by the SS. DDS and Aritan analysts reckon over 95% of the population of the Zone pirate nation has been killed by the Dinos in these reprisal operations for the Zone attack on Dino-Land.

SS-Legate Solax has said that the "complete cleansing of Zones has been completed".

Dinos crush Zone pirates

The Dinos have crushed and "liquidised" a major Zone pirate group on an undisclosed planet in the Rim Worlds. Zone villages on the planet were destroyed and the population wiped out (according to the showbiz column on SS Singles). 6 Zone ships were destroyed in a battle with the Dino SS forces in orbit. One Dinomark PT was destroyed.

It is reported that the rest of the Zone ships fled but the Dinos are giving chase. The Dinos intend to wipe out the Zone pirates once and for all according to some sources.

Dinos attack Zone pirate homeworld?

The Dinos are said to have attacked the homeworld hidden deep in the Rim Worlds that is the base of the Zone pirates who recently attacked Dino-Land. The Dinos are not yet saying how successful the operation has been which may be still ongoing but it is thought to have involved a space, air and ground attack by SS forces.

Around 20 Dinomarks are said to be involved in the operation which is a sizeable chunk of SS space assets.

Dinos destroy Zone ships

The Dinos have begun "Operation Strike Back" (as it has been termed in the Dino media) against the Zone pirates who attacked Dino-Land. Two Zone ships were destroyed near New Jakarta earlier and another Zone ship was destroyed in the Rim Worlds last week it is reported.

A powerful SS fleet is understood to be searching for the homeworld of the Zone pirates which is said to be at a secret location in the Rim Worlds. According to one SS source "der net ich der closing in".

Dino fleet departs for Rim Worlds

A powerful Dino fleet containing much of the front-line SS and almost the entire Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade has departed from Dino-Land for an undisclosed mission and destination. Sources have said the destination is the Rim Worlds however and the Dinos are off to hunt down and destroy the Zone pirates who attacked Dino-Land.

An SS source said that Ronald and GBH are commanding the fleet personally and the presence of the brutal Black Dragons, the fascist vanguard of Ronald, indicates the fleet is not intending on a diplomatic mission.

Ronald : There is no ceasefire against the Zones

Today the bodies of Holisae and Crystal Iguana were buried at a traditional Dino funeral which included a solemn procession and plenty of Dino death metal. Ronald, afterwards, was asked what he was going to do now. He said that the Zones would pay dearly for their crimes.

A reporter asked about the ceasefire, Ronald said the terms of the ceasefire were clear. Fighting against the Bolitic has stopped but no other nation has been mentioned. Ronald is thought to be gathering various SS experts in "liquidation" to Dino-Land. Indeed the SS, which of course reveres Ronald as its god, has pledged to help Ronald turn the galaxy into an "ocean of Zone blood".

Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade recalled from Pulsin

The infamous Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade of the SS has been recalled back to Dino-Land from Pulsin where it has been taking part in the fight against the Bolitic. It has been at the frontline for a few months (and is said to be in need of a regroup) but insiders say it is being recalled because Ronald intends to use them for an operation against the Zone pirates.

Ronald has now arrived on Dino-Land and is preparing for the funeral of his wife and daughter and for a commemoration of all those lost in the Zone attack (the death toll for civilians alone is now over 22,000). It is thought that after the funerals he intends to launch an attack against the Zone pirates and knock them out of the war. However the inclusion of the Black Dragons in his force could indicate he wishes to go further...

Clones seek to distance themselves from Zone attack

The HCS have deplored the attack by Zone pirates on Dino-Land and have been sure to confirm that no Zones based in the Clone Star Empire took part in the attack. "The Zone pirates are outlaws who are opposed to everything decent. The Zones of the CSE have begun to rebuild their lives with hope, effort and worship of Oojok. All the pirates worship are zarks. They have taken the tainted coin of the Bolitic to attack our allies, the Dinos, and we condemn them for that."

Some Zones are said to be terrified the Dinos will attack them, the memories of the DDS attacks on Zoneland just a few years ago still fresh and raw. A thunderstorm on Colom, where most Zone refugees are, sparked a panic which resulted in a riot.

Ronald addresses nation

Supported by GBH and Smellyson Ronald has given a live video address to the Dino Republic from his flagship Dinomark which is returning from its mission to Smolask to destroy the ash cannon. In a slightly shakey and low voice Ronald sought to reassure his battered people that the war was winnable and that the Zones would be punished.

"Fellow Dinos, earlier today we faced one of the largest battles and costliest days in the history of our armed forces. Our homeland has been struck by criminals in the pay of our enemies and many civilians have paid the ultimate price.

"You all know my loss but i also feel your loss. The thousands who have died since the start of this war, i feel all of their losses. But i say this, their losses will not be vain. The war is being won, our enemies have thrown everything into one last desperate attempt to defeat us but we held firm. Our enemies have nothing left, we still have our freedom, our values, our democracy, our lives.

"The criminals who involved themselves in our war with the Bolitic have made a mistake. A deadly mistake. We will punish them for their audacity. We will punish them for their criminal targeting of civilians. We will punish them for their greed. We will punish them for their involvement in affairs that are not their business."

The video was suddenly cut off, rumoured to be because Ronald began barking.
