Anderson says Clones would join force against Utrek

Admiral Anderson has said that the Clone Defence Forces would take part in a multi-national force against the Utrek. He said that it was clear the Utrek had interfered in the CSE-E. However, he acknowledged that the Clone Space Navy is not yet strong enough to face the Utrek alone in an offensive operation. He said that if the CIN and UNDF took part they would be strong enough to defeat the Utrek!

The Raegris are lobbying hard for such an operation. They are warning that the Utrek are regenerating their fleet quickly and within 15 years, maybe 10, they will be too strong for the Local Group to face even together.

Raegris call for attack on Utrek!

The Raegris has said that the Utrek are still greatly weakened after their catastrophic war with the Mantae but are rebuilding fast. The Raegris report on the Utrek says that in 15 years they estimate the Utrek will have restored their fleet to the pre-war levels (though much more powerful as older types like the Kalahati Tuul no longer exist). Maybe in 10 years the Utrek will be a direct threat.

The Utrek have said that the UNDF, CIN and Clones should join forces (with the Raegris) and attack the Utrek before it is too late. It is unlikely such an attack will occur though the Clones are furious at Utrek alleged involvement in the CSE-E uprising.

Clones order six Cosmos from Raegris

With their own ship building industry still on it's knees, the Clones have turned to the Raegris to build six new Advanced Cosmos CS cruisers for the Clone Space Navy. The Raegris will build the ship structure and hulls, these will then be delivered to the Clones for fitting out with engines and equipment. The Cosmos is originally a Raegris design, though the Advanced Cosmos has a number of changes. A Clone team is heading to the Raegris with details of the ships needed.

The six Cosmos will be known as Cosmos CSR, though the differences between then and Clone built Cosmos CS are not expected to be significant. The Clones are hoping to be able to build their own Cosmos by 2127.

NS buy back remaining Raegris Quasars

NS has agreed a deal to buy back the surviving four Quasar cruisers which were originally sold to the Raegris a number of years ago. Three of the four ships will be restored back to NS standard and join the eight in service as a key part of the NS Strategic Attack Force. The fourth ship will be used for spares, NS Engineering will assess the four ships when they receive them next month and then choose the one in the worst condition for withdrawal.

Converting the other three ships to MSU16 standard is expected to take most of the year. An NS source said it was unlikely any of the ships would be in service before 2125.

22.11.22

Raegris order six Pentekonters

The Raegris have placed an order for six Pentekonter Protectors (known as the GC-1 Gu'Telis in Raegris service) to join the nine already in service. This will complete the orders being placed for ships to rebuild the Raegris fleet including 12 Repulse and 12 Yel'Tema.

The Raegris are considering selling their four Quasars back to the New Sparta fleet. The Raegris only have four left and the small fleet size is considered uneconomic to maintain. NS are interested in the ships to bolster it's strike arm.

23.10.22

Porquat to send ships to assist Raegris

Porquat 640 have sent four ships from it's fleet to the Raegris where it will assist with patrolling Raegris space. The Raegris fleet was badly depleted in the war against the Terrasaurs and it will take years to rebuilt it. NS has sent an eight ship deployment already though more ships were needed so the Raegris could withdraw some of their own ships which badly need maintenance and in some cases repair from the war.

The Porquatian ships will remain for six months. It is possible a Molab deployment could replace them next year. Admiral Gomber was keen to highlight the co-operation of NS allies. "Team work makes the dream work!" he said.

Raegris place order for 12 Repulse destroyers

The Raegris have placed a multi-billion zark order for 12 ships based on the forthcoming Repulse 51B destroyer as they seek to rebuild their fleet following the heavy losses against the Terrasaurs. The first two or three ships will be built by NS with the rest built by the Raegris themselves. The Raegris may eventually operate a fleet of twenty.

The Raegris have also increased their order of RC-2C Yel'Tema cruisers. Eight were outstanding from the current order, an extra four will now be built.

Caratore meets Raegris, discusses rebuilding fleet

Viceroy Caretore has met a delegation from the Raegris, his first talks with an NS ally. It is reported that the war with the Terrasaurs was discussed along with the new direction of NS under MBO control. Caretore assured the Raegris that the alliance system would be continuing as part of MBO-New Sparta.

The Raegris fleet was badly damaged in the war. Caretore announced that a detachment of six NS warships would be deployed to assist the Raegris with protecting their territory. The Raegris have also looked into options for new ships.

NS allies weigh up staying or leaving new regime

New Sparta has a number of allies, some rightly interwoven into NS. They are all weighing up whether to stay in NS or leave after the take over of the Mutre Bee Organisation.

The Raegris are Tier 1 allies. In normal circumstances they would be expected to distance themselves but their fleet has been wrecked by the Terrasaurs. With a remaining Terrasaur threat and a resurgent Utrek on their borders, the Raegris face a difficult time until they can rebuild their fleet. It is likely they will remain in the NS orbit.

The Free Eritan States meanwhile are likely to leave. They have become powerful and are beginning to plan to take the Eritran planets the Clone Star Empire seized years ago. NS would never agree to such an operation, of course if the FES leave the NS alliance system then any objections would be moot.

Starbot is also likely to leave. Mutre Bee was once their leader too and this did not go down well. Starbot could join a new alliance with the Free Eritran States.

The Remedians, like the Raegris, cannot really afford to leave. Their fleet on it's own is too weak to stand against the Utrek.

Finally, the Porquatians are likely to stay in alliance with NS though may subtly distance themselves.

Whether any of this will concern MBO-New Sparta or not is another question. Viceroy Caratore has yet to meet with any allies or even mention them.

NS reveal details of mobile TPM-G

The sending of mobile TPM-Gs to the Raegris raised a number of eyebrows as the existence of such a system was not widely known in New Sparta. VP (Ops) Stella said the mobile TPM-G was developed after the ABBO-Bolitic War though has never been deployed yet. She said the system is very simple, consisting of a TPM-G launcher on a trailer and two support vehicles. One provides power and data link facilities, the other up to 6 TPM missiles.

Stella said mobile TPM-G cannot operate on it's own, it relies on a datalink for targeting purposes, usually provided by orbital assets. It is thought the Raegris will deploy one system each to Korik and Nemoka, and keep one spare. A company of NS Terrestrial Forces troops will accompany the systems for security purposes.

7.3.22

Dinos share subspace mining technology with New Sparta

Although the Terrasaurs have not yet used their subspace cloaking technology yet against the Raegris it remains a potential threat. The Dinos have decided to share their subspace mine and detection technology with New Sparta. Senator Krusty has met with Dr Forbidden and handed over full details of the technology. A team of Dino scientists will also assist NS in understanding and integrating the technology into their own systems.

NS said they will share the technology with the Raegris though it may be a number of months before NS is able to deploy it.

28.2.22

Terrasaurs launch major attack into Raegris space

The Raegris are reporting a major attack beginning by the Terrasaurs into their space. Around forty Terrasaur warships, in two fleets are approaching the South of Raegris space, either side of the Nemoka system. The Raegris are assembling their fleet and plan to engage the Terrasaurs near Nemoka.

Windy's NS detachment is still two days away from Raegris space. President Torus has raised the NS alert status to ORANGE.

25.2.22

Raegris ship destroyed by Terrasaurs

A Raegris DF-1 (Isometric) warship has engaged three Terrasaur ships near the outlying Raegris system of Korik. The Terrasaur ships were disabling a Raegris subspace listening station, a key part of their early warning defences in that part of their territory. The DF-1 is reported to have destroyed one Terrasaur ship but was overwhelmed and lost with all crew.

The Terrasaurs destroyed the listening station and withdrew. The Raegris have dispatched a task force to the Korik system. Another task force of NS ships is due to depart today to reinforce the Raegris commanded by Protector Windscorpion.

22.2.22

Windy to lead task force to assist Raegris

President Torus has ordered a task force to depart for the Raegris space as soon as possible to help the NS ally against the growing Terrasaur fleet. NS Protector Windscorpion will command the task force which will depart on Friday. The fleet is expected to consist of four cruisers and two destroyers along with support.

Torus has also raised the NS alert status to AMBER.

21.2.22

Raegris patrol attacked by Terrasaurs

A two-ship Raegris patrol has been attacked by a trio of Terrasaur warships on the edge of Raegris space. One of the Raegris ships, a DF-1 (Isometric), was badly damaged in the short battle. The Terrasaurs withdrew after three more Raegris ships approached. The Raegris report two of the Terrasaur ships suffered significant damage. One had to be towed away.

The Raegris have requested NS help to patrol their space.

19.2.22

Raegris report two Terrasaur skirmishes

The Raegris have reported their patrols have encountered Terrasaur ships twice this week, on both occaisions the Terrasaur ship was violating Raegris space and opened fire when challenged. In neither case did any meaningful damage occur during the brief skirmish, the Terrasaur ships withdrawing after a brief exchange of weapons fire.

The Raegris have increased patrols along their border. President Torus is to speak with the Raegris government next week. NS may send a task force to help strengthen Raegris patrols.

9.8.21

Raegris warship skirmishes with Terrasaurs

A Raegris Quasar has skirmished with two Terrasaur warships in deep space. The Quasar was carrying out a survey of asteroids when it encountered two ships, which phased out of sub-space. The ships opened fire on the Quasar causing minor damage and no reported injuries. The Quasar returned fire, hitting one Terrasaur ship. Both ships withdrew and returned to sub-space. It is thought the Quasar was mistaken for a Dino, DTA or Bolitic ship and once the Terrasaurs knew their mistake they called off their attack.

The Quasar has returned to Raegris space.

7.7.21

Operation Atomic Fist 2121

The latest edition of NS' strategic attack exercise has begun and will be based near Liberation. The exercise will include a number of practice attacks by NS bombers and will culminate in a nuclear attack on an asteroid in deep space. The ships involved are:

21-104 Grenadier (flagship)

15-101 Quasar (bomber leadship)

15-105 Graviton

15-107 Charm Quark (2 Raegris Quasars are also taking part)

36-102 Midas

35-311 Killer

51-105 Conqueror

51-115 Charger

41-108 Holocene

43-111 Flores Sea

71-106 Condor

116-101 Emerald

76-101 Zephyr

161-104 Inquest

14.3.21

NS monitor Terrasaur situation

New Sparta has said it is monitoring the fast developing situation at the edge of DTA space with the Terrasaurs destroying a Voth ship (a Kalahati Tuul, incidentally a former DDS ship) and attacking a Dinomark. While it is not thought the Terrasaurs will attack NS, President Windscorpion said some prudent precautions will be made.

Six ships will depart next week to strengthen the Raegris fleet, the Raegris' astral position means they could be affected by any DTA-Terrasaur war. NS will also strengthen it's patrols along the UNP-DTA border. It is thought the same frequency of patrols will take place but with more powerful ships. A field hospital on New Jakarta, the closest UNP planet to the border with the DTA will be activated and extra supplies of military equipment prepared in nearby depots. Windy said the NS alert status will remain at AMBER.

11.2.21

NS are observing Terrasaur situation

NS are said to be observing closely the growing Terrasaur threat on the edge of DTA space. Although the UNP has not been targeted, NS believes that any DTA-Terrasaur conflict could easily spill over into UNP space.

It is thought NS have asked the Raegris to send a ship to the area of known Terrasaur activity just outside the DTA. A Marconi Elint ship may also be despatched to Raegris space. A Depender intelligence gathering ship may already be close by.
