The Dinos have raised their alert status to Level 3 (Level 0 is the highest and is actual war so the alert status is still fairly low) which indicates they now think a Bolitic or ABBO attack is closer. The DDS say they are maintaining their current high-alert status.
Level 3 means all Dino Army and SS units must prepare for mobilisation which will come with a Level 2 or higher status. Bolitic move 5 million soldiers to Castarian?
There are unconfirmed reports that the Bolitic may be moving over 5 million slave soldiers to holding areas on Castarian. These zombie-fied troops are the cannon fodder of Bolitic armies (the number of Bolitic soldiers is fairly small) controlled by mind-control drugs and driven into a bloodlust frenzy before battles before being hurled in suicidal attacks. The Bolitic do not care how many of their slave soldiers die in a battle.

Black Dragon enters service
The HCSAF have accepted the RQ-3 Black Dragon UAV into service. This small surveillance drone is catapult launched off a special attachment on a Tapir IFV and provides high definition multi-mode imagery and ground radar data via a datalink to the base station (in the launcher Tapir), filtered data can then be sent to troops and displayed via special goggles or hand held devices. At the moment the imagery can only be seen as is but the HCS are working on augmented reality so what troops see is overlayed (via goggles) with extra information such as the location of hidden insurgents.

F-47 will share technology with new UCAV project
The newest HCSAF fighter project is the Light Local Fighter (LLFX) which was officially unveiled to the media today with a scheduled unveiling of initial designs and a specification lock-down by the Summer. The fighter, likely to be called F-47, will perform air defence, sovereignty and basic attack missions on secondary planets in the CSE. Currently ageing F-40s perform these duties and it is thought that (eventually) replacing these with F-45s would be too expensive and overkill.
Interestingly the LLFX will be produced in 2 versions, a manned fighter, and an unmanned combat aircraft for the attack and reconnaissance roles. More details of this UCAV version will be presented at a later stage.

Tensions with the Bolitic Confederacy seem to rise daily but this article will not really talk about that, instead i want to discuss the last major war which was against the Utrek and Zones and how the dramatic changes that war caused to the DDS will define how it fights the next war.

All of these weapons came out of experience from the Utrek War and filled gaps in the DDS portfolio which the Utrek War highlighted. The Panther too, although designed before that war, was too late to fight in it and much of it's final configuration depended on war experience.

The Ferret UCV was also developed because of a pressing need for small expendable fighters and in the last couple of years the two "crash" programmes have merged to form the Missileer carrier force and it's Ferret wings. The next conflict will see if this major addition to the DDS portfolio formed from the last conflict will work.
There have been major geopolitical changes too. The Utrek War ended the Remedians as an independant military force and now they form part of the DDS. Since that war the DDS have tried to build a strong alliance system and we will see how well the Raegris, Aritans and other allies do in a future war. The border between the Raegris and the Vosun is becoming increasingly volatile. A Raegris battlefleet has now arrived at the border and ships have already engaged in skirmishes with Vosun warships. In the last incident a DF-1 came under attack from 2 Vosun ships which crossed the border. The DF-1 returned fire hitting one of the Vosun ships though it is not thought much damage was caused and the Vosun ships retreated over the border. The DF-1 was hit once but damage or injuries were reported.

General Sea Urchin is visiting the Dinos. Although the purpose of his visit is being kept secret it is thought he is discussing joint-strategy in the event of a war with the Bolitic and ABBOs. Sea Urchin is understood to have attended a meeting of the Dino senate (which The Orchid and Windscorpion also took part in via video-link) where the situation was discussed.

1st Attack Flotilla moved to Remedia Prime
DDS bloggers are reporting that the 1st Attack Flotilla of the DDS Strategic Attack Force has left Proxima 7 and will relocate to Remedia Prime. All 5 Pulsar 12A cruisers are said to be loaded with nuclear missiles and MRM. The 2nd Attack Flotilla is also being bought to immediate readiness status with the 3rd being bought up to a 48 hour readiness status and is likely to be deployed to Liberation.

The Orchid has directed the various TPM factories to increase production rate of the key weapon, though the factories have not yet been told to go to full rate. It is also understood that stockpiles of key weapons and resources like the TPM are being dispersed from major DDS depots to a mixture of locations.
Starbot has also been told to increase Ferret UCV production, The Orchid wants at least 100 extra Ferrets available by mid-April. In other preparations for an anticipated war with the Bolitic The Orchid has ordered several scheduled maintenance jobs on DDS warships be delayed though current upgrade programmes like the Isometric ILU are going ahead. Raegris deploy battlefleet to border with Vosun
The Raegris have deployed a powerful battlefleet up to their border with Bolitic allies the Vosun after another incursion by a Vosun ship into Raegris space. The unidentified Vosun ship entered Raegris space near the Golaris asteroid belt and the ship fired several long range shots at a Raegris mining colony on one of the asteroid before returning over the border. One shot hit the colony but no injuries or serious damage was reported.
The fleet, according to Raegris bloggers, consists of a DC-1 (Quasar) cruiser, 2 RC-2 (Cosmos) cruisers, 4 DF-1 (Isometric) frigates and a PC-1 (Pentekonter) patrol boat.

The DDS has raised it's alert and readiness status to double yellow, the last level below an actual war situation, following intelligence (via the Dinos) that the new Bolitic Emperor Borca met with the heads of the main houses yesterday and apparently told them to prepare for war with the DDS and Dinos.
How the Dinos have found this out is unknown but it is likely they have agents in several Bolitic houses. What Borca actually said was not recorded but the Bolitic forces are now said to be gearing up for imminant combat. The DDS are to reinforce their forces along the border. The Ground Shock 2110 operation will also end tomorrow (a week early).

Gale-III declared operational
The Gale-III ICBM has successfully carried out it's final development test with a dummy warhead which was launched from a silo near Ailier City (part of the main defensive ring around the capital and HCS GHQ) which landed in the southern Ailier desert. Production will now begin of the missile to replace the Gale-IIB which will be phased out of service over the next few years. Current silos will need some modifications to be able to operate the new missile.
A road mobile version of the missile is also said to be in development and will form a core part of the HCS doctrine to be able to maintain a "strike back" capability against an invading force as long as possible.

HCSN criticised for air power
The HCS Navy has been criticised by a former officer for the poor state of it's carrierborne aviation on the eve of the first new carrier CNS Cloneworld entering service. The carrier currently has 4 F-40Ns embarked for final proving trials but is unlikely to ever carry more than 6 because, despite having on paper 61 F-40Ns, only around 10 are considered capable of carrier operations.
When the F-40Ns were restored to the HCSNAS they were refurbished and updated but it was found that most of them were not suitable for being re-strengthened for carrier operations without extensive rebuilding which could not be afforded at the time. Thus until the introduction of the F-45K the navy's carrier will have to carefully ration it's use of air power.

The next generation cruiser project, the Chrysalis, and the Future Large Unmanned Space Vehicle (FLUSV) project which will be both a stand-alone superluminal UCV and a component part of Chrysalis have both been given their official starts with initial design funding of 170 million zarks allocated.

T-89 to end production
The principle tank in the HCS, the T-89, is to cease production when the current order for new build T-89FSU2 ends later this year. This will bring to an end several decades of continuous tank development and production that began with the T-86 in the earliest days of the HCS before progressing to the T-88 which was the mainstay of the wars with the DDS and finally to the current T-89.
The HCS has decided to only build T-55ZDMs which were co-designed with the Dinos from now on though will continue to maintain and update it's huge fleet of T-89s for the next decade at least.

The HCSAF have earmarked 40 of the nearly 100 C-440s currently on order as the KC-440 tanker variant. The HCSAF's tanker fleet tends to be on the older end of the C-440 fleet and modified doctrine indicates the need for extra tanker provision. The tanker version of the light transport the KC-426 has also been confirmed to refuel COIN aircraft.

Crickson has been named by the Liberal Party as a candidate for the SS Commander election. This has not gone down well with the SS who almost universally loathe and despise the Liberals (and the feeling is mutual). Lakes, who has MBH's backing, is considered a stronger candidate but received an unexpected boost when Ronald (no less) gave Lakes his backing.
The news was received with shock by Lakes (and no doubt MBH too) but is likely to help Lakes romp home as Commander. Ronald is regarded by the SS as a living God (a view Ronald shares himself) and thus his endorsement will help Lakes easily beat Crickson and other candidates who are all current SS officers and fairly low profile.

The Bolitic have sent 4 more Snarls to the detachment of ships it has stationed in Vosun space, who of course are a vassal state of the Bolitic Confederacy. The Raegris detected the ships being sent yesterday and they are expected to join the other Bolitic warships (estimated at 9) by the end of next week.

The Isometric fleet is to receive an update over the next few weeks. Of course the fleet is in the middle of a major update programme the ILU but Isometric 2110 Update A will bring earlier ILUs up to the current standard (mostly software changes).

This allows 2-4 Isometrics to link their sensors and weapon systems to become, in effect, one larger virtual ship and also link up with a Missileer to use it's vast ammunition load. The attack system will also be upgraded to iSAS-ISO2 with improved support for MRM and improved ground targeting sensors. Finally the IWC will be upgraded adding offensive info-weapon capability.

Nybble detected near Starbot
A HCS Nybble reconnaissance drone has been detected in free space near Starbot. The Starbotian ship I-11 followed the drone for several hours taking advantage of what appears to have been a malfunction in the drone's cloaking device to conduct some sigint. The drone was travelling at 350c and appears to have been conducting active scans on Starbotian local space.
Analysis of the telemetry indicates the drone carries sophisticated sensors and has a good performance. I-11 pulled away when a Shark frigate approached which the Nybble docked with.

Bolitic get more Reptoli Tuul
The Dinos have said they think the Bolitic have received some more Reptoli Tuuls (known as BS6809 in Bolitic service) from the Utrek. They may now have 11 either in service or being made ready for service. The RTs are operated by the Chosen Men, the elite unit which forms the Emperor's guard.
It is thought this unit, which was an innovation by Aliowaki, may have been the reason Borca was able to take power so easily when Aliowaki was killed. It gave the Imperial House such an overwhelming power advantage over the other Bolitic houses that no one had the stomach for the usual civil war.

Three new brigades declared operational by New DDS Army
The 1st and 3rd Light Brigades, both Aritan, plus the 4th Light Brigade (Remedia) have been declared operational and ready for service by the New DDS Army. This is a substancial increase in the available manpower with the Central Battlegroup now due to be fully operational by the early Summer.
In further Army developments the Maritime Support Regiment will be beefed up to a full brigade when it is doubled in size over the next year. It will be split though over the 2 Battlegroups. The first new build Bombardier aircraft for a couple of years have been delivered to the HCSAF, the EW attack EA-84FEAs will aid defence suppression and tactical EW and 150 will be built though from next year production will be shared with the modernised A-84FM of which 120 will be built.

First Pulsar withdrawn
Two Pulsar 12A cruisers are being withdrawn this year and C107 India is the first of them. It was hoped it would be available in reserve until the Summer but a reactor leak while at dock in orbit around Solaris has prompted the DDS to withdraw it now. A DDS Engineering spokesman said that the reactor had been shut down when the leak was detected and there was minimal radiation leaked out, no crew were affected.

Crickson candidate for SS job?
Consul Jimmy has said there will be an election to fill the vacant SS Commander post in a couple of weeks and he has assigned Crickson as the Liberal Party candidate for the job. This has not gone down well with the SS who consider Crickson a failed reality TV micro-celebrity (which he is). The SS tended to not watch "Big Brother" as they considered it a moral vacuum and vacuous visual slime. They much preferred "Dino Idol".

Knobhead tries to form DDS faction
Failed Commander candidate Knobhead is in the cold now and probably has decided he has nothing to lose with respect to the Orchid regime. He is said to be trying to form his own faction to counter Orchidism which is represented by the Hoods and Windyism which is represented by Windy Massive. The Hoods and Windy Massive regularly clash at DDS GHQ leaving a trail of broken and raped bodies on either side.

Dinos and Clones to collaborate on artillery
The Dinos and Clones have increased their partnership in armoured vehicles to now design an improved version of the ATC-107G self-propelled gun and RBU-9500 MLRS system. As with the T-55ZDM and TRV-5HD projects the Dinos will fund development of the new versions which the HCS will also buy when adapted for their own needs.
The details of the ATC-107GDM and RBU-95DM have not yet been revealed but it is expected both weapons will be totally modernised. The RBU-95DM will probably switch from a T-88 to a T-55 chassis as the Dinos wish to standardise on this chassis for their army.

Hoods to form volunteer brigade
Around 3000 Hoods will be "volunteered" to form the 9th Light Brigade of the New DDS Army. The Hoods force is in reply to the formation of 2 brigades of Windy Massive volunteers. A Hood spokeshood said the 9th Light Brigade (Hood) would be "a professional elite and a fascist vanguard for the pure professional regime of Orchidism".
When the brigade will be formed though is unknown as first 3000 Hoods need to be found, it is thought there are currently only around 800 members of Hoods 2.0 though many former Hoods from the days of Rotarios still exist in the DDS or could be persuaded to return.

DDS Communications to be upgraded
The Orchid has signed a 740 million zark contract to upgrade the DDS communications network and improve facilities at DDS Communications Command (DDS-COMMCAM). The money will mainly go into further upgrades to the Hypernet which links the various planets in the UNP and spacecraft. Bandwidth and security will be improved which are thought vital with the growing cyber threats the DDS are facing.
These will be the final upgrades to the existing infrastructure before work starts on it's replacement Ultranet in 2113. Ultranet will be a next generation and multi-year programme to totally replace the communications and network infrastructure of the DDS and UNP state facilities. The total pricetag of Ultranet is now estimated at 37 billion zarks though this is to be spread over 12-15 years and will not all come from the DDS budgets.

Second exercise of Ground Shock 2110
The second landing exercise of the Ground Shock 2110 deployment has been made on Loeuss. The fleet travelled direct from Proxima 5 to Loeuss simulating a combat situation with DDS and Remedian warships "attacking" the amphibious fleet. The DDS ships were joined en route by a force of Dino ships including SX-98 and Provider-EDA transports.
Troops from the 1st Armoured Brigade (Arit) and Dino troops were then landed on a site secured by Prowler and SS-D (Dino) special forces. The landing was called a success by Zeppelin who is now in charge of the deployment again after Windy returned to GHQ.

Pre-production F-10SEP enters testing
Two pre-production F-10SEPs (built by rebuilding the original prototypes) have been delivered to the DDSAF Development Team to begin final flight testing of the upgrade fighter ahead of production in the Summer. The F-10SEP is the next major version of the standard DDS fighter since the F-10S itself.
The SEP has an improved wing to aid agility and fuel efficiency, a revamped databus, improved stealth characteristics including reduced IR emissions and compatibility with a new air to surface missile the DDS are working on and the future air-launched version of TPM-2.

DDSAF begins flight tests with K-18D
The DDSAF has now received 6 pre-production K-18Ds from the Dinos and have begun flight testing with the type with the help of a Dino Army team. 12 DDSAF pilots were trained in the type on Dino-Land late last year and have now begun testing the type ahead of the delivery of the first production examples in the Summer.
The K-18D is a close support aircraft and most testing will be in integrating this new asset with New DDS Army units. The DDSAF have 150 on order.

Sirikwan receive Type B transports
Sirikwan have received the 2 ex-HCS Type B transports they bought last year. The elderly ships have been refuelled and reconditioned and are expected to be fine for 5 years service even though the ships date from the earliest days of the HCS Space Fleet (indeed they were used to transport troops in the invasion of Earth during the Clone Wars!)
Sirikwan will localise the ships themselves and upgrade the communications to the latest DDS specification for interoperability. Sirikwan have shown an interest in new build Type C transports but do not expect to buy any for a few years yet.

Clones sell weapons to Triple Megan
Although it was rumoured to be an invasion target for Benito the unaligned Eritran world of Triple Megan has now become a customer of HCS weapons instead in a massive multi-year deal. The planet has no space fleet (though do have a merchant navy) and an outdated military and are to spend 9.7 billion zarks over the next 5 years in readdressing that. Part of the Megan plan though will be to allow the HCS to have a refuelling point in Megan orbit and the HCS will pledge to always have at least one of their warships nearby at all time to "assist" the Meganites.

Stinkyson wants to leave SS
Ronald's son Stinkyson has tendered his resignation from the SS to the Dino Senate saying he does not want to be in charge of the "degenerate organisation" anymore. In turn the SS are now in open defiance of their commander, regularly burning effigies of him and raping anyone who looks anything like him. The SS consider Stinkyson a disgrace to their god Ronald's loins and want him replaced.

The first Kelsan KS bomber has entered service with the fleet though as yet will not be a fully operational ship and instead will be used for training until more Kelsans join it in service later in the year and the first attack flotilla is formed. Knobhead, recently humiliated by The Orchid and demoted to being in charge of the Reserve Fleet (which amounts to a couple of Starsystems and a Provider at the moment), has obviously decided he has nothing to lose. He has launched an attack on current DDS strategy calling it "Too Bolitic centric".

Its a very dangerous strategy."

DDS bring forward plans for second nuclear weapons plant
Last year the DDS opened a new nuclear weapons production facility on Solaris and planned to open a second facility, with a research & development centre, on Remedia Prime in 2112. The Orchid has ordered plans be accelerated to reduce the dependancy on one facility though it is unlikely anything can come on-line before 2111.
The old facility on Proxima 7 was due to be decommissioned later this year but will now be kept active until it can be replaced by the Remedian facility. It's equipment is old but it can see produce warheads at a limited rate.

Benito to meet Oojok
Benito is to meet Oojok on Paragon later this month. It will be the first time Oojok has left Cloneworld since he had his absolute powers restored in the wake of the death of Captain Clone. Benito has been quiet on Oojok, not condemning him as some expected. It is thought Benito already has a verbal agreement from Oojok not to interfere in the eastern half of the empire in return for support.
It is rumoured Oojok will boost CSE-E's defence budget by 5 billion next year and increase the number of ships allocated to CSE-E's space fleet. Marconi 2110 Update A
The Marconi EW fleet is to receive an update over the next few weeks. Marconi 2110 Update A was originally going to be a more extensive upgrade and greatly improve the docking bays and include a modular casualty receiving station and improved accommodation to support special forces. However as the fleet is to be heavily worked over the next few months the decision has been made to concentrate only on the EW and computer systems as this will only take the ships out of service for a week each and not the 3-4 weeks as a more major upgrade will take.
The update thus includes a new version of the main sensor array, improved IR sensors, an upgraded signal processing computer and an upgraded communications multiplex. Internal security systems will also be upgraded and the Marconis will be fitted with multiple Canister TPM as per the existing SUP Combat Upgrade 2110.

The DDS is gearing up for war with the Bolitic, a few days ago i spoke to a DDS General off the record and he told me the DDS thought there was an 80% chance of war with the Bolitic sometime this year. The DDS are strengthening it's forces along the border and seeking to maximise available forces. I understand that this year's Marconi update is being reworked to reduce the time each ship will be unavailable from 3 weeks to 1 for example.
But why is this so? Although it is still denied everyone knows Windy and Ronald killed the Bolitic Emperor Aliowaki a few weeks ago, this was supposed to cause the usual war of succession that follows the death of a Bolitic Emperor (sometimes these wars can last years) and would have put the Bolitic out of the reckoning until the next decade. Instead Borca has seized the crown and faced virtually no opposition. The Bolitic have been reunited and now have a genuine grievance against their foes apart from just hatred (though this is usually enough for them).
Borca was a virtual unknown until a few weeks ago, despite being the head of the Emperor's forces in the Imperial House. Check the DDS' public databases on Borca until a few weeks ago and you would have found just a couple of sentences. That is the problem, DDS intelligence was flawed. Borca being strong enough to seize power so quickly was completely off the radar. The Imperial House being so overwhelmingly powerful as to dissuade any rival houses from taking arms against them was also undetected.
But once should not blame the DDS too much, its only recently that they have taken intelligence seriously with the new Intelligence Office. The Dinos are more to blame, they should have known about Borca. Ronald however acted outside of the Dino Army and it is probable that he had not been privy to the latest intelligence (Ronald is rather conservative, he doesn't know olive oil is really an actual oil and not just Popeye's girlfriend).
Windy is said to have let slip (in a gay bar) that he thought Aliowaki was planning an attack which he why he decided to kill him but recent intelligence indicates Aliowaki was actually holding the Bolitic back and Borca is much more aggressive. So it may be that Windy intended to prevent a war but in the end has caused it. We'll have to wait and see.

The final 2 ships in the 09/10 ship building plan have been completed to schedule. P142 Caracara is the latyest Falcon 47A patrol ship and A161 Heptane the latest Extender 73A oiler. A new Coril 86B shuttle A582 Horsehead has also been completed.
Isometric 41A frigates F111 Pleistocene and F114 Palaeozoic have completed their ILU and been replaced on the production jig by F112 Holocene and F117 Proterzoic.

Bolitic Reptoli Tuuls "operational"
The 9 Reptoli Tuuls transferred to the Bolitic Confederacy from the Utrek (in return for assistance in fighting the Mantae) are now said to be operational and forming a special attack force at the heart of the Bolitic fleet. The RTs are operated by the Chosen Men of the Imperial House, the elite troops of the Bolitic armed forces.
According to Dino sources the Bolitic have upgraded the RTs with cyber-warfare capabilies and improved close in weapon systems.

Chrysalis to be "twin-ship" / FLUSV & MURV
The future cruiser, the "Chrysalis" will be what the DDS call a "twin-ship". It will be integrated with the Future Large Unmanned Space Vehicle (FLUSV) which is a new project designation for the on-going work into a superluminal UCV based on earlier Stoat-UCV concepts. Naming it FLUSV indicates the DDS are now moving from experimental to a development project with this work.
A DDS source said FLUSV will form a major part of the future cruiser, it will be totally integrated with the ship but will be able to detach and operate as a separate ship if needs be. No date has yet been given for Chrysalis or FLUSV apart from "by the end of the decade" however unofficial reports indicate a 2117-8 timeframe.

The HCS Navy now has 2 submarines, CNSS Seawolf has entered service following an extended set of sea trials (which were marred by a fatal accident that killed 2 sailors in December, though the HCSN are not revealing any details about this).
Seawolf was designed and built with the help of the Sirikwanese and is the first of a number of new generation submarine designs including the Warhammer SSB, Sealion SSN and Walrus SSBN. Marconi to be on permanent patrol on Bolitic border
It is understood that The Orchid has ordered that a Marconi EW/Elint ship maintain a permanent patrol on the Remedian-Bolitic border unter further notice. The Marconi, which will have escorts, will scan Bolitic space using it's powerful active scanners and also monitor Bolitic communication though most of that is encypted.
Communications volume can be a good indicator of a potential attack even if you cannot know what is being communicating, a DDS spokesman helpfully said. In the event of an attack the Marconi will also be on hand to jam enemy communications. A Prowler team and Fulcrum high speed transport could also be on hand in the Marconi (though the DDS will not confirm this).

Windy Massive to form Armoured Regiment
The Windy Massive, having formed 2 reserve brigades for the New DDS Army are also to form a permanent armoured regiment which will be part of the Reserve Battlegroup and support the 1st Armoured Brigade (Arit). Unlike the infantry brigades the WM Armoured Regiment will be a permanent unit, part of it's duties will be supporting DDS Security in protecting DDS GHQ.

First landing of Ground Shock results in death
The first amphibious landing of Ground Shock 2110 has taken place on Proxima 5. "Opposed" by a couple of Prowler unit acting as the enemy a battalion of the 2nd Light Brigade (Remedia) was landed from L112 Gondwana. The landing ships were protected by Ferret-G UCVs, F-10 fighters acted as the enemy trying to attack the landing ships.
Unfortunately a Remedian soldier died when a vehicle got loose aboard a landing ship during the descent and crushed him. It is thought the restraining cables were not properly attached. Windy has said procedures for lashing down vehicles would be reviewed and tightened up if necessary. "I shall make lashings a personal interest, this evening, when i discuss the matter with the officer in charge of that landing ship." he said.
The fleet will now travel to Loeuss to link up with Dino and Remedian Army troops for further exercises.

Consul Cruggson gave a speech to senior officers in the Dino Army earlier today and announced that a new Dinomark was now in development. At the moment it is known as the Dinomark XX though it will have a different name when it enters service (a date was not given).
Cruggson said that the RS, whilst an excellent warship, was too large, inflexible and expensive for the Dinos needs. Thus the new Dinomark would seek to fill the gap between the RS and the PT class with a new principal fighting ship. Dino sources indicate the XX could be similar in size to the DDS Panther 35A destroyer which thus would be similar to the aborted Dinomark GL project of the last decade.

SeaGale launched for first time
The submarine launched version of the Gale-III ICBM, the next generation HCS ballistic weapon, has been successfully tested for the first time. SeaGale Development Build 1 was launched from the HCS' main missile test site in Micom, a launch from underwater is not expected this year.
A tethered tube will be used in the first underwater test probably next year unless the ballistic missile test submarine CNSS Warhammer is ready.
As for Gale-III itself a final test is expected soon before it is cleared to enter production. The first silos to change from Gale-IIB are expected next year.

5 Windy Massive battalions join New DDS Army
5 Windy Massive Volunteer Reserve Battalions have been officially included in the New DDS Army. The 5,000 troops will form the 7th and 8th Light Brigades (the latter bolstered by a Remedian Reserve Battalion) which will join the new Reserve Battlegroup. It is hoped these brigades will be operational by the end of the year.
The Windy Massive units are formed of volunteers from other duties inside the DDS and thus will only be called up in times of war. Windscorpion will also use the 7th Light Brigade as his personal bodyguard.

Oojok granted full Emperor powers by HCS & CSE government
The Cloneworld government, governors of planets in the CSE-W and the HCS general staff (or the part in the west of the empire anyway) have endorsed the full restoration of Oojok's absolute powers which he had before the coup some years before. Oojok has restored the Church Of Oojok as the state religion but promised there would be freedom of religion in the empire and a respect for secular institutions. Ayatollah Clone XE, also restored as spiritual leader, said there would be no reprisals.

HCS exact revenge on Lornaca Melnig
Three Zone light brigades and 6 HCS military police battalions have swept across Lornaca Melnig in what is being seen as revenge for the murder of Captain Clone by Lornacan fighters. No fewer than 24 villages were wiped out in the action with the orders being that no one be left alive and the villages destroyed.
Lornaca has a small population and it is estimated by the DDS, who called for restraint, that 7% of the entire population have been killed in these reprisal moves. For now the reprisals have ceased. Admiral Anderson has said that opposition to the rule of Oojok cannot be tolerated.

Every Tuesday this website publishes a list of the current fleet deployments of the DDS fleet however we have been asked to stop publishing the list for operational security reasons. The DDS think war with the Bolitic is a distinct possibility and do not wish for the Bolitic to have easy access to deployment information.

SUP Combat Upgrade 2110
The various SUP derived ships of the DDS (excluding the Missileer and Nightingale ships) are to receive a combat upgrade over the next couple of months during their scheduled maintenance to improve their self-defence capabilities.
All ships are already fitted with Canister TPM but SUP Combat Upgrade 2110 will see a new tactical module added to the ship's sensor array which will allow up to 5 Canister TPM sets to be fitted. The self-defence laser cannons will be upgraded and better integrated into the tactical system of the ship. Internal security sensors will also be upgraded.

Remedians to bring RCPP fleet up to KT2N standard
The Remedians are to upgrade their fleet of Kalahati Tuul 39A destroyers and also bring the first 5 up to the 2N standard of the later 4 ships. The new unified class will be known as the Perimpaz 39B class (after the lead ship DR181 Perimpaz Of The Marshes), the 5 older ships will have their engines replaced with Heldris Hemtar B-II engines which have been bought from the Clones. That and some strengthening of the internal structure will allow a speed boost to 600c.
All 9 ships will be receiving communications and computer upgrades, a new databus with increased bandwidth, IWC for cyber-defence, MRM support and various other improvements. The upgrades are due to begin later this month.

Oojok solidifies his power amid more mysterious deaths
Oojok is steadily tightening his grip on CSE-W after a number of mysterious deaths of senior HCS officers who are known to be firm secularists. General Alkenaki of the HCSAF 3rd Attack Division died when the F-40 he was flying over southern Ailier crashed, a stray missile from a nearby test range is blamed. General Yejaki of the HCS General Staff died when a ceiling fan fell off it's mounting and decapitated Yejaki who was standing underneath. General Toger of the 45th Panzer Division was reported to have committed suicide with a gatling gun.
Admiral Anderson is being maneuvered into position as the new head of the HCS and defacto head of the CSE-W though it is well known that he will do exactly what Oojok orders. Informal and secret polling of the HCS shows a majority welcome a return to the old theocracy.

DDS move ground troops to Loeuss
With tensions with the Bolitic rising the DDS have diverted 2 companies of the 1st DDS Armoured Brigade (Arit) from the Ground Shock 2110 deployment to the DDS base on Loeuss in the Remedian Belt. The Dinos are also strengthening their garrison on the planet with an extra infantry brigade.
Interestingly as DDS amphibious resources are largely tied up with Ground Shock the troops will be taken from Liberation to Loeuss by Dino SX-98 landing ships. The troops are expected to be on Loeuss by the end of the month.

DDS Research have formed a new team looking into non-lethal "alternative weapons". This will include the ongoing work into cyber weapons but will also look into manipulating planetary weather systems and mass psychological warfare.

A Bolitic fleet consisting of at least 9 ships briefly entered DDS space near Algol 7 in the Remedian Belt. Most DDS ships in the region are further along the border nearer to Loeuss but a Rome corvette was able to conduct medium-range scans and indicated 7 Snarls and 2 older ships.
The DDS despatched ships from it's immediate readiness flotilla from Proxima 7 but the Bolitic returned to their own space by the time the DDS got there a few hours later. The Orchid has ordered extra patrols in that area.

Austini 55 to get Gale-III missiles
Austini 55 has been chosen as the second site for the HCS' next generation ballistic missile the Gale-III which is now an ICBM (earlier Gales were IRBMs). Benito has confirmed that 40 road-mobile Gale-III launchers will be bought by CSE-E and located at secret sites across Austini 55.
Austini 55 could also be a base for CSMs which use the Gale-III launcher. From Austini 55 most of the Eritran Free States like Molab will be in range of nuclear tipped missiles though no DDS planet would be in range. That could change if CSM is sited on Randalf 74 in future.

Benito has said that he is not worried about CSE-W becoming a theocracy against as long as it does not affect the "detirmined secularism" of his own CSE-E. Benito has maintained his ban on the Church Of Oojok in his half of the empire though as CSE-E is quite isolated from the west this has not really been an issue for Oojok and XE who have successfully re-established their church and now have defacto command of the empire.

Windy takes command of Ground Shock
Windy has rejoined his flagship F103 Carboniferous and as the frigate was part of the Ground Shock 2110 exercise he has "relieved Zeppelin from the burden of commanding the whole deployment so he can concentrate on the amphibious operations".
The Orchid has endorsed the reassignment, no doubt glad that Windy is away from GHQ. Sources close to the commander say Windy is an asset that needs to be carefully managed but that The Orchid hasn't worked out quite how yet!

The power vacuum left by the death of Captain Clone in the CSE-W appears to be being filled by Oojok Madness. HCS watchers have observed much strategic manovering by units and senior commanders loyal to Oojok and a number of mysterious deaths by senior officers known for their strong secularism.
In one example Field Marshal Walnut, head of a powerful HCS division, was accidentally crushed by a T-89 tank when he appears to have been doing some maitenance on the tank underneath it. The driver was unaware the senior officer was (for some reason working on the tank's track) and drove off, killing Walnut. A source at HCS GHQ says Walnut was a keen mechanic and this was a tragic accident.

General Redjec has been badly injured in a serious physical and sexual assault by a gang of Windy Massive members at GHQ. He was found in the gutter by DDS Security, naked and covered in blood. He has received a sustained beating and multiple rapes.

Captain Clone killed!
There are unconfirmed reports coming in that the head of CSE-W Captain Clone has been killed in an insurgent attack on Lornaca Melnig. One report states his helicopter was shot down with a surface to air missile and he was found dead in the wreckage.
The HCS are refusing to comment though elite units including Zone light brigades have been mobilised. The fleet is understood to be at full alert status.

Dinos
The Dinos have ordered 2 more SX-98 landing ships to add to the 6 they already have in service. The Dinos are very happy with the type, which is also now in DDS service as the Oceania 63A.
Two more Dinomark MX and 1 Dinomark XT have been delivered. Cruggson has said there will be no more fleet reductions.
Molab
Another 4 of the 20 ex-Utrek Kalahati Tuuls being refurbished and updated by the DDS have been completed and are being prepared for service.
Raegris
A 13th DF-1 frigate has been delivered. Intriguingly the Raegris have asked the Dinos about purchasing some second-hand Dinomark XTs, up until now all of their imported warships have been DDS. It is thought the Raegris want to add some amphibious warfare capabilities to their fleet.
Sirikwan
Sirikwan has ordered 2 Avery-Dunlop Star Rider transports which are the basis for the Friendship/Olympus ships in DDS service (after modification by Consolidated Spacecraft and the DDS). It is thought the Sirikwanese will modify them into multi-role combat support ships to supplement the Relan class.
The Dinos have ordered 2 more SX-98 landing ships to add to the 6 they already have in service. The Dinos are very happy with the type, which is also now in DDS service as the Oceania 63A.
Two more Dinomark MX and 1 Dinomark XT have been delivered. Cruggson has said there will be no more fleet reductions.
Molab
Another 4 of the 20 ex-Utrek Kalahati Tuuls being refurbished and updated by the DDS have been completed and are being prepared for service.
Raegris
A 13th DF-1 frigate has been delivered. Intriguingly the Raegris have asked the Dinos about purchasing some second-hand Dinomark XTs, up until now all of their imported warships have been DDS. It is thought the Raegris want to add some amphibious warfare capabilities to their fleet.
Sirikwan
Sirikwan has ordered 2 Avery-Dunlop Star Rider transports which are the basis for the Friendship/Olympus ships in DDS service (after modification by Consolidated Spacecraft and the DDS). It is thought the Sirikwanese will modify them into multi-role combat support ships to supplement the Relan class.
Captain Clone arrives on Lornaca Melnig
Captain Clone has begun a 3 day tour of Lornaca Melnig, the latest aquisition of the Clone Star Empire. He met with the new Governor Admiral Anderson and awards medals to soldiers who had shown valour during the short invasion and the ongoing anti-insurgency operation.
Tomorrow he shall travel to visit troops at the second city of Lornaca and finally he will see an exercise by Zone troops.

DDS ships skirmish with Bolitic
Two DDS ships in the Early Warning deployment, currently based at Loeuss in the Remedian Belt, have skirmished with a Bolitic Snarl battlecruiser near the Remedian border. The Snarl crossed the border and was then intercepted by D103 Puma and F148 Solomon Sea. The Snarl attempted a cyber attack on the DDS but the current info-defences are reported to have held steady.
The DDS fired some warning shots across the Bolitic ship's bow and then it retreated back over the border and towards Bolitic space. The Orchid has ordered Early Warning, backed up with ships from the RCPP, to establish a presence in that area of the border to deter any other incursions.

Ship building rates to increase
The Orchid has said that the strategic situation is deteriorating with Bolitic unstability, ABBO activity and the return of the Argon meaning the DDS is now facing potential threats on a number of fronts. The Orchid, who has already announced a big programme of ship building for the next financial year, has said that ship building rates will increase to bring the planned new ships to the fleet earlier.
More ships will also be available for operation with the time between deployments reduced from 4 to 3 weeks. A working group has also been set up to look at DDS patrol and deployment patterns to see if they can be optimised to reduce the number of ships tied up.

The Orchid demotes Knobhead
The Orchid is understood to be so furious with Knobhead for letting the Argon 7SS kill a potential defector and destroy 2 Ferret UCVs she has demoted Knobhead already even before he arrived back at GHQ to explain himself. The Orchid conducted a tense debriefing over a video link and then demoted Knobhead to Colonel and has placed him in charge of the DDS Reserve Fleet.

It is thought The Orchid has been waiting for an opportunity to demote Knobhead since he stood against her in the Commander election. Firefly has finally accepted a job in the new New DDS, he will command the 1st Attack Flotilla though he will also serve aboard DDS Protector Windscorpion's personal ship.
