The 900th
F-45A has been rolled off the production line for the
HCSAF which concludes production of the type for the air force. Around 69 are still outstanding for the
HCSN which will keep the factory busy at a lower rate until 2111. The first 150 F-45As of the HCSAF will then be upgraded to the later
F-45A2 standard. This will keep the factory busy until 2113 when retooling will begin for the
F-45C/K of which well over 1000 will be built.
In HCSAF service the F-45A has quickly gained a reputation for being reliable (only 1 has been lost to date and that has been attributed to pilot error) and highly capable.
