Cosmos ground attack capabilities considered

The Cosmos K upgrades and some Cosmos S cruisers have been given a new version of the "super cannon", the most powerful weapon in the HCS Space Navy. This new version has a ground attack mode which saw it's debut in a recent amphibious operation where 3 Cosmos K gave support to landed troops.

The DDS have been analysing telemetry, public domain information (and information gained through espionage though of course will not admit to that one!) They think the Cosmos does not have an equivalent to the DDS Strategic Attack System but rather gets targeting information from other ships and ground positions. It is thought some Molentic Tuuls have an upgraded ground imaging system that allows for reasonable space-to-ground targeting and Red Lizard elite forces also use a laser illuminator to "light up" targets for the Cosmos to shoot at.

An integrated imaging, targeting and post-attack analysis suite similar to SAS is thought to be under development and will be fitted to Cosmos cruisers from next year. The current system is not as accurate as the DDS SAS + Rome + Z5g attack system (individual rivets on a tank on the ground can be targeted and struck from orbit) but is still reasonably accurate.
