DDS order 350 new tanks

The DDS have placed an order for 350 T-62Y tanks from its in-house land weapons builder Sanger Municipal Arms (SMA). The DDS Terrestrial Forces Land Division (a.k.a. the DDS Army) currently has about 400 tanks of a variety of types ranging from ex-HCS to UNP types on loan. The T-62Y will replace all of these in service over the next decade. The DDS expected to buy around 900 in total.

The first production tanks will be delivered shortly, a dozen development tanks having served with the 1st Armoured Brigade for nearly a year without any major problems. The extended test has helped refine the design. The DDS and SMA are also likely to add the tank to its export portfolio from next year.
