The DDS are to offer a combat support ship based on the Friendship 75A platform (the base ship being a civilian design) for export. The ship is intended for smaller navies and will combine transport with reconnaissance, replenishment, electronic warfare and intelligence gathering roles through optional modules which customers can purchase at the same time of the ship or add the modules later.
Much of the work of the ship, known as the Depender 750, is derived from the joint Sirikwan-DDS project for Sirikwan's new Multi-Role Combat Support Ship (MRCSS). These will also be Friendship based though will not have the modular combat role system. The Depender 750 has already been officially added to the DDS exports portfolio though final specifications may rest on any launch customer's needs.
