The first SX-98 landing ship in DDS service, known as the Oceania 63A class, has begun final proving trials and is expected to be ready to join the DDS' amphibious warfare squadron by the middle of the month.
10 Oceanias are on order though only the first 4 are confirmed. It is likely the DDS will buy the class over an extended period to save money. The Oceanias will recycle names from the Pulsar class cruisers that are now being withdrawn.
The Oceanias are built by Consolidated-ETA Spacecraft and then finished off by the DDS adding military specific equipment. It is understood that the Oceanias will be equipped with Canister TPM and a self-defence laser cannon.
