With the early flight testing of the F-45C now on the F-45C is being prepared for a "rigorous" flight test programme of the "full-spec" aeroplane. HCS officials discussed the new plane, which will be the backbone of HCS airpower until the 2130s at a media briefing today.
The F-45C will have a mission adaptive wing, which means the shape of the wing can be adjusted depending on the mission. The HCS did not say how much it could adapt though. As well as helmet mounting sights the interior of the cockpit will be used to give the pilot an augmented view of the battle situation using a holographic projector.
The F-45C is due to enter service in 2114.
