The Future Basic Trainer T-76 was due to enter service from 2112 to replace the ageing (and hazardous) fleet of T-75s providing basic flying training for the HCSAF. However because the T-75 fleet is decaying at a greater rate than previously expected the T-76 has been bought forward and the aim is now to get the new trainer into service by next year.
The T-76 is based on the A-85NT platform and will be a much more advanced training solution to the rather primitive T-75 including a digital flight recorder for after-flight classroom assessment. One problem the HCSAF has though is money as budgets are currently tight because of the need to boost the space fleet. The HCSAF may pause production of the A-85NT while T-76 starts up. A first flight is expected in the Spring.
