The
DDS have announced plans to build 20
Corkscrew 51A medium combat ships for their own fleet from 2116. The first 5 Corkscrews will be built for the
Remedian fleet from 2114 and will be followed by 20 for the DDS. Among the ships the Corkscrews will replace will be the 8 oldest (or in worst condition)
Isometric 41As which will be handed over to the
Departmental Fleet in the late 2110s/early 2120s to replace the retiring
Starsystem 91Xs.
The DDS say that work has already begun on the Corkscrew's second generation! Though only early analysis and specification work. It is envisaged that this second version (probably the
Corkscrew 51B) will appear in the mid-2120s.
- Putri 500 had ordered 2 more Coril-E shuttles on top of their existing fleet.
