Although the forerunner Heavy Attack Squad was created in 2086 the DDS only really began operating from 2087 and plans have finally been unveiled for how the DDS will mark its 25th birthday. The Historian will write 25 articles over the next few months detailing some aspect of DDS history, some obscure and some familiar. In the Summer (see below) the DDS will mark the birthday with a ceremony which it is hoped that the DDS' two greatest heroes Ronald (the founder) and Windscorpion (the icon) will attend.
The actual date of the DDS' founding is hard to calculate as details are sketchy as to when the change from Heavy Attack Squad to DDS happened (the DDS was a tiny and quite irregular grouping in its early days) but the DDS have decided on the 1st of June and the birthday ceremony will be held around then.
