Scores of Kalahati Tuuls are due to life expire over the next ten years with major operators like Molab now looking at replacements. NS has been looking at the market for a replacement and consider the Pentekonter Protector too small and the export Corkscrew too large for most customers to consider to replace KTs.
Instead NS is looking at a modernised Rome for this market. Current design ideas include e-Core engines, weapons pylons (like the second generation Type 51 will have) and interior space flexibility. NS is expected to present firm specifications early in the 2120s.
