Senator Krusty killed on a secret operation
The Dinos have announced that Senator Krusty, the Minister of the Intelligence Services, has been killed on a secret operation. No more details of the operation have been given but it is rumoured the operation was a joint Dino-NS operation which also included Windscorpion.
Censor Ronald has assumed temporary control of the Dino intelligence services. A permanent replacement will be made in the new year. Ronald made a tribute to Krusty whom he said had often performed under extreme pressure.

NS to build more NDAA A-12s
NS has placed an order for twenty new build A-12s (more commonly known as the NDAA or Next DDS Attack Aircraft). The rest of the fleet of one hundred aircraft are currently being updated to NDAA 2.0 standard with an uprated engine and improved systems.
NS has placed an option for thirty more pending available funding. NS plan to keep the NDAA in service until 2150 though will perform a major mid-life rebuild and update in the early 2130s.

NS announce Multi-Mode Combat Ship project
Earlier in the year NS had chance to see the Dinomark AM up close and have liked the idea of a cruiser class warship able to operate in atmospheres so much they want their own! Today President Sea Urchin announced initial funding for the Multi-Mode Combat Ship (MMCS) project.
It is thought a modified Type 35 will be the core of the MMCS. NS Research have already conducted a design study of a modified Panther with turbines and aerodynamic changes. Sea Urchin has said the MMCS is a priority project and a specification will be drawn up in 2120.

Ronald moots turning DTA into federation
Ronald has made his first public speech as Censor (and deputy to Emperor MBH) to say that the Dino Empire should consider merging with the other members of the Dino Trade Association (DTA) to form a federation.
"As a federation we would be better able to integrate the strengths of the DTA members. We face a number of threats and we need to be stronger to face them in the next decade and beyond." he said.
Sirikwan and Yeng have said that the idea has merit, New Arit's parliament was cool on the idea however.

Windy addresses voters with recorded message
Nominations for the NS Presidential election closed at the end of the September, only Windscorpion and Zeppelin are standing in the election to be held in November. Windscorpion is away on a secret long-range mission and is not expected back until after the election, however his deputy Torus is running his campaign.
He did record a message to the NS electorate before he left and this was broadcast earlier. He didn't unveil any policies and indeed has none apart from keeping things as they are. He did say that NS would become stronger and more responsive. Windy is the overwhelming favourite in any case.

NS discusses Rome evolution project, may be called Raider
NS has spoken more about the Rome evolution project intended to replace Kalahati Tuuls in the next decade. It is thought the potential market could be for between thirty to forty ships. NS say they have spoken to a number of potential customers and it will help drive their development of the ship.
The ship may be known as the Raider 46M and could also be built for NS to bolster it's fleet of Romes. The ships are very popular with NS due to their flexibility and ability to perform multiple-roles.
As for the Romes the Rome ILU (Intermediate Life Update) will begin very shortly. The ships will be re-engineed with a Proton RM-01GX e-Core (a development of the engine used in the Protector 57A), be fitted with a Z7t cannon and receive other updates and refurbishment.

Operation Long Patrol 2119
The latest edition of Long Patrol, an exercise in long-range patrol and operations, is underway though the ships involved began their journeys last month. Deployment LP2119A has headed off to space between Vega and the former Utrek Federation. It will be met by deployment LP2119B next week where refuelling and resupply exercises will take place.

NS mark passing of Starsystem from NS service
With the final conversion to a Proxima Centauri 42A light destroyer complete there are no longer any Starsystems in NS service. The Starsystem was one of the first series-production warships built for DDS (as it then was). The first entered service in 2093, a total of thirty were built over the next eight years before production switched to the Isometric - in many ways a development of the Starsystem.

The Starsystems were very quickly outmatched, most of the fleet were lost in various combats however a small number survived as training ships. In 2115 the decision was made to begin a programme of rebuilds and upgrades to produce a cost effective patrol ship.
Three of these ships 42-101 Proxima Centauri, 42-105 Richard Nixon and 42-106 Pyris made a formation pass of the UNP Space Museum over Proxima Centauri 7 where the remains of two battle casualty Starsystems are exhibited.

NS looking into export Rome for Kalahati Tuul replacement market
Scores of Kalahati Tuuls are due to life expire over the next ten years with major operators like Molab now looking at replacements. NS has been looking at the market for a replacement and consider the Pentekonter Protector too small and the export Corkscrew too large for most customers to consider to replace KTs.
Instead NS is looking at a modernised Rome for this market. Current design ideas include e-Core engines, weapons pylons (like the second generation Type 51 will have) and interior space flexibility. NS is expected to present firm specifications early in the 2120s.

42-109 Oscar Wilde is the final Proxima Centauri 42A conversion to be completed, this means the Starsystem class now officially has finally left NS service after over 25 years service.
