President Torus has admitted that NS is not sure how such a devastating defeat was suffered at Saeou. The defeat cost NS a number of it's best ships and has opened up the core of the UNP to the approaching Mutre Bee Organisation fleet. Due to the chaotic nature of the battle, jammed communications and conflicting reports NS has not been able to hold a proper post-mortem.
It does appear that the flagship SS Missileer exploded amid the centre of the fleet, destroying a number of nearby ships. Missileer was not fired upon and thus it's loss is either a malfunction (unlikely) or sabotage. Torus has ordered the DSA to scan for MBO clones at maximum rate.
