Contact lost with NS transport near Aldebra

A River 75B transport, on a run between Aldebra and Saeou at the very edge of UNP space, is feared to have been lost after a telemetry datalink went silent. NS fears the transport has been destroyed and have despatched a warship from Aldebra to investigate. 

NS say the loss of the transport is a mystery as no technical issues were revealed in the datalink. The last transmissions show a catastrophic loss of reactor containment which could be due to an enemy attack. The ship has not been officially named by NS though an Aldebran source say it was SS Seine.

Windscorpion evacuated to Raegris homeworld

Windscorpion, who was injured badly in the second battle of Nemoka, has been evacuated to the Raegris homeworld. Windscorpion suffered double broken legs and other internal injuries and is now at a NS military facility on the planet. He has been accompanied by Firefly.

General Akbar, who is leading the Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) which has now joined the Raegris-NS fleet in the Nemoka system, has taken over command of the NS fleet.

Torus recalls reserves and cancels updates

President Torus has recalled NS reserve personnel including ship crews and security personnel. All NS facilities are to have heightened protection from NS Terrestrial Forces troops. Leave has been cancelled and around 200 former NS ship crewmen now on the reserve unit will be bought in back into NS and receive refresher training.

Torus has also cancelled all pending ship upgrades and major maintenance. All exercises will also be postponed until the end of the Raegris-Terrasaur War which NS is being increasingly drawn into.

NS admit contact lost with Corkscrew

Following on from the loss of SS Braun, NS has admitted that contact has been lost with SS Corkscrew which is commanded by Tiger. However, NS said the Corkscrew was on a very long range secret mission beyond the range of NS communications and therefore the loss of contact was not unexpected.

Privately though NS are said to be concerned as the ship has been sent to investigate space in the direction of the Mutre Bee Organisation's territory. However, this means the ship has had to pass between 7 Sa Sao factions space, which explains the difficulty in communications. 

Lost Marconi named as the Braun

NS have reported that SS Braun has been lost in an enemy attack in unclaimed space between the Raegris and Bolitic territories. The Marconi EW ship is thought to have been trying to set up a direct communication link between the Raegris and New Sparta after the existing links were severed by the Terrasaurs. This has hindered co-operation and data reporting during the war badly.

President Torus is said to have ordered an NSIS investigation into how Braun was detected so quickly. It's location and mission was top secret. 

Splits emerge in Raegris over the war

The Raegris leadership is reported to be split over whether to accept the Terrasaur terms (demilitarisation of the Nemoka system and basing rights) to end the war. Some are saying the Raegris cannot sustain the loss rate and the fleet is now dangerously depleted. The Raegris have lost eighteen ships to date.

However, others (with NS support) are saying the Raegris cannot surrender now. There would be nothing to stop the Terrasaurs coming back at a later stage for new concessions. One politician is reported to have said, "Nemoka today, Korik tomorrow, maybe our homeland next week?"

Contact lost with Marconi near Raegris space?

A Raegris news source is reporting that NS has lost contact with one of it's Maconi EW ships in space between Raegris territory and the Bolitic Confederacy. The ship is thought to have been in the area to reestablish communication links between the Raegris and NS which have been cut. This has meant that communications have to be relayed via the Remedians with resulting delays.

NS are not commenting on the reports. Another report in the UNP media last week reported that contact with a Corkscrew destroyer in space near the 7 Sa Sao has also been lost though this may be due to the long distance involved. NS is not commenting on this either.

Raegris reinforced by RRF

The Rapid Reaction Force, comprising 2 Type 35s and a Solaris cruiser, has arrived in the Nemoka system to reinforce the badly depleted Raegris-NS fleet which has engaged the Terrasaurs in two heavy battles.

Details of the second battle have emerged. The Raegris lost 3 DF-1s and 3 RC-2s. No NS ships were lost though Windscorpion was injured in the battle. His injuries are reported to be serious though not life threatening. Firefly has taken over the NS fleet.

Second battle of Nemoka

The Raegris, along with NS's task force, have made a second attempt to defeat the Terrasaurs in the Nemoka system. The Raegris felt unable to wait for reinforcements due to the direct threats made by the Terrasaurs to the Nemoka population. Windy is said to have cautioned them to wait.

The result of the battle is unclear, though at best can said to be a draw. The Terrasaurs remain in Nemoka orbit though Raegris ships are now stationed also in orbit over the main population centre of the planet below. Six Raegris ships were lost in the battle, no NS ships are reported lost. The Terrasaurs lost 5 ships.

The Terrasaurs are reported to have launched an orbital bombardment of the Nemokan town of Gal'Aksix which has a population of 20, 000. Ground reports state heavy damage to the settlement. The Nemokan authorities have called on the inhabitants of towns away from the main population centre to evacuate.

The NS Rapid Reaction Force is reported to now be approaching the Nemokan system.

Terrasaurs threaten Nemoka population

The Terrasaurs have repeated their demands to the Raegris, this time issuing a clear threat to the 8 million population on Nemoka 4. The Raegris have one Nemoka 4 day to agree to the demands by the Terrasaurs, which includes demilitarising the system and letting the Terrasaurs build a base, or the population will be "removed".

A Raegris military source has said that the fleet in the Nemoka system has been told to prepare to attack. This is despite Raegris and NS reinforcements being days away. The source said "It's obvious the Terrasaurs want to force a second battle before reinforcements arrive but we have no choice in the matter, we can't leave millions of our people at the mercy of these creatures, they are completely defenceless!"

Terrasaurs issue demands to Raegris

Lord Seth, commander of the Terrasaur forces now occupying the orbit of Nemoka 4, has issued his demands to the Raegris. He wants the Raegris to cease combat operations against the Terrasaurs. He said that the Nemoka system would become co-owned between the Terrasaurs and Raegris. The inhabitants of Nemoka 4 would be left alone, commercial travel could continue but the Terrasaurs would provide protection for the system. The Terrasaurs would be free to build a base and ship facilities elsewhere in the system.

Seth said that the population of Nemoka 4 had nothing to fear though the Terrasaurs could strike them if they wished. To underline that fact his ship fired on an abandoned mining facility on Nemoka 4, destroying it.

The Raegris will of course refuse these demands, as will New Sparta. The Dinos and Bolitic have also said that a Terrasaur base so close to their territory is unacceptable.

NS to send ships to assist Raegris

President Torus has despatched the Rapid Reaction Force to the Nemoka system to assist the Raegris. This force of three cruisers will arrive in two days and link up with the remains of Windy's task force. Torus has also ordered a 12 strong fleet of ships to be prepared. It will depart next week. Torus has advised the Raegris to hold their position until then fleet arrives. The Raegris are reluctant to pull more ships from their core home worlds in any case.

Torus has postponed the major exercise Ground Shock 2122 which was due to take place at the end of March. It and all other exercises will be put on hold until the Terrasaurs have been removed from the Raegris territories.

Communications with the Raegris are still down, messages have to be transferred via the Remedians. NS is looking to see if they can establish a new data link via the Bolitic Confederacy.

NS and Raegris suffered heavy losses in battle of Nemoka

Three NS ships from Windy's taskforce including his flagship and nine Raegris ships were lost in the battle of Nemoka according to reports which have reached NS via the Remedians, direct communication links still being down.

35-208 Infinity, 35-305 Keel and 41-202 Fox were lost in the battle, Windy has transferred his flag to SS Illustrious. The Raegris lost a DC-1 Quasar, 6 RC-2 Yel'Temas and 2 DC-1 Isometrics. Other ships are reported to have been damaged. The Raegris have estimated the Terrasaurs lost 16 ships but were able to push the Raegris and NS back and have attacked Nemoka's orbital facilities forcing an evacuation.

President Torus has called an emergency meeting of the NS Politburo.

The battle of Nemoka

Raegris/New Sparta and the Terrasaurs have finally clashed in a large battle in the Nemoka system involving nearly one hundred ships on both sides. Early reports indicate significant losses on both sides but the Terrasaurs are in the ascendency and have seized orbital control over the main Nemoka planet.

One report indicates an enemy agent aboard one of the Raegris Quasar cruisers committed an act of sabotage which destroyed the Quasar amid the Raegris fleet causing chaos. Communications with the Raegris have been cut (thought to be due to Terrasaur attacks on communication networks). New Sparta is trying to re-establish contact and see what the situation is, especially with Windscorpion's task force.

President Torus has raised the alert status to RED, full war footing. The Rapid Reaction Force has been told to prepare to depart for Raegris space.

NS reveal details of mobile TPM-G

The sending of mobile TPM-Gs to the Raegris raised a number of eyebrows as the existence of such a system was not widely known in New Sparta. VP (Ops) Stella said the mobile TPM-G was developed after the ABBO-Bolitic War though has never been deployed yet. She said the system is very simple, consisting of a TPM-G launcher on a trailer and two support vehicles. One provides power and data link facilities, the other up to 6 TPM missiles.

Stella said mobile TPM-G cannot operate on it's own, it relies on a datalink for targeting purposes, usually provided by orbital assets. It is thought the Raegris will deploy one system each to Korik and Nemoka, and keep one spare. A company of NS Terrestrial Forces troops will accompany the systems for security purposes.

Remedians to assist Raegris near Weyojai

The Remedians are to assist the Raegris by taking over patrols around the Raegris system of Weyojai. A Remedian Corkscrew has arrived in the Weyojai system and will begin patrols after a few days orientation. This will allow the PC-1 Pentekonter on station in the system, plus it's relief, to be allocated to the Raegris Central District.

New Sparta have sent around 500 of the latest TPM-3s and three mobile TPM-G launchers plus loads to help improve the defences of the Raegris homeworld.

Windy frustrated by Raegris delays

Protector Windscorpion has expressed his frustration with the Raegris military command for not engaging with the Terrasaur fleet in the Nemoka system. He said that telemetry analysis indicated a Terrasaur destroyed knocked out of action in the first Nemoka action has now had main power restored.

The reason for the Raegris delay is unknown. The military command is said to be weighing up a number of options.

Dinos share subspace mining technology with New Sparta

Although the Terrasaurs have not yet used their subspace cloaking technology yet against the Raegris it remains a potential threat. The Dinos have decided to share their subspace mine and detection technology with New Sparta. Senator Krusty has met with Dr Forbidden and handed over full details of the technology. A team of Dino scientists will also assist NS in understanding and integrating the technology into their own systems.

NS said they will share the technology with the Raegris though it may be a number of months before NS is able to deploy it.

Raegris engage Terrasaurs at Korik

The Raegris have engaged the Terrasaur fleet detachment in the border system of Korik. Nine Raegris ships advanced and attacked a Terrasaur fleet of 7 ships. The Terrasaurs were defeated after a heavy battle, the Raegris have reported 4 Terrasaur ships were destroyed. The rest, all damaged, fled. Two Raegris ships, an RC-2 and a DF-1 were destroyed. Other ships were damaged.

Now attention switches to Nemoka where the Raegris main fleet is facing off against a much larger Terrasaur fleet. The Raegris fleet includes an NS task force led by Windscorpion who has voiced concern that the Raegris are waiting too long. The Raegris have stated their priority was to secure Korik before any other actions therefore a battle at Nemoka could now in imminent. 

Task Force Windy joins Raegris fleet

Task Force Windy, under the command of the Protector, has reached a Raegris fleet near Nemoka. The fleet is facing off against part of the major Terrasaur attack fleet. The NS ships will act as part of the Raegris command, though will be under NS direction.

A Raegris source has said that the Northern flank at Korik needs to be secured first, hence the current holding pattern.

Terrasaurs launch attack on Korik

The Terrasaurs have launched another attack on Korik in Raegris space, destroying orbital facilities. The Raegris have sent a task force to the system though it is not yet there. A single PC-1 Pentekonter is in the system though was unable to do much except observe.

Meanwhile, in the Nemoka system a much larger Terrasaur force is facing off against a large Raegris fleet. The Raegris have sent reinforcements including one of it's Quasar cruisers. Windy's NS task force has arrived in Raegris space and is preparing to head to the Nemoka system.

President Torus has ordered another task force be readied to send to Raegris space as well as emergency supplies.

Raegris and Terrasaur ships engage in battle

The Raegris hoped to wait until the NS reinforcements arrived but were forced to engage with the Terrasaurs after Nemoka's orbital facilities came under attack. Twelve Raegris warships engaged a force of 20 Terrasaur ships, another fleet of 11 Raegris ships shadowing a second force of Terrasaur ships. Initial reports indicate heavy fighting over Nemoka.

Three Raegris ships are reported to have been destroyed, all of them RC-2 Yel'Temas. A number of other ships have also been reported damaged. The Terrasaurs lost 2 ships and withdrew.

As the battle raged another force of 7 Terrasaur ships attacked Korik, scene of another attack a few days ago, orbital facilities were badly damaged. A Raegris PC-1 Pentekonter was able to damage one Terrasaur ship before it was forced to withdraw under heavy fire.

President Torus has spoken to the Raegris military, who have requested more NS help.
