In a rare bit of good news for the cash starved Clone Navy the second (and final) West Clone Republic class helicopter carrier has entered service. R05 Beyond Micom will join R04 West Clone Republic in supporting amphibious operations and ASW.
The building of Beyond Micom has been much delayed. The first ship was built in 2112 and R05 was laid down the year after with an original target date for service of 2114 but budget pressures have delayed completion.
The arrival of R05 does mean that the Clone Navy finally has 4 carriers though only 2 (Cloneworld class and West Clone Republic class) are expected to be deployed at any one time.
