Two Starbotian Army columns, comprising about 15% of their entire army, have been wiped out by a secret weapon used by the VC rebels (but suspected to be Argon). A Starbotian source said casualties in the attacks were 97% and 100% in the 2 attacks (with a figure given of 43,789 deaths). The attacks were made by road side bombs which were beamed into position in the hundreds.
Its thought the bombs originated off-world, beamed in en masse and then targeted by a system installed on Starbot. S101 has called a halt to all operations and withdrawn all troops from VC rebel territory.

Gibson discharged from mental hospital
Gibson has been released from mental hospital, surprising many who thought he would never see the light of day again. He was committed after kidnapping a young army officer for sex and was also found to have shot Senator Cruggson while under a gross delusion of being a Utrekian intelligence officer.
Gibson was released on licence, he will have to keep taking powerful drugs and also wear an electronic tag. His doctor said that his delusions were now under control and that he could return to a "normal life" though his career in the Dino state is likely to be over.

S101 orders army into VC rebel territory
S101 has fully mobilised the Starbotian Army and ordered troops into territory held by the rebel VC faction. The VC, led by VC404, have been responsible for a number of bombings across the planet and S101 has decided that enough is enough even though sending Starbotian troops against Starbotians will not go down well with many.
Three armoured divisions are thought to have sealed off VC territory and several reconnaissance probes have been made. The location of VC404's HQ is not known but is likely to be deep in rebel territory.

Wave of bombings across Starbot
Another wave of bombings across Starbot has killed dozens and caused chaos across the planet. Six bombs were detonated simultaneously, another bomb failed to detonate and was made safe by a Starbot Army team.

DDS attack Argon at Aldebra
A small DDS force (thought to be 2 Type 35s and a Terran Sea) have launched a highly co-ordinated attack on the Argon at Aldebra. The aim of the attack was to attack Argon ground troops which are reported to have surrounded the DDS troops holed up in hills near the capital. The attack was successful according to DDS reports with the Terran Sea (said to be the renowned SS North Sea) striking the Argon troops hard with a dozen Z5t shots killing dozens of Argon troops and injuring many more.
The Type 35s created a diversion and destroyed an Argon cruiser and damaged 3 others. All ships managed to get away though one of the Type 35s suffered serious damage with a number of crew losing their lives. The attack is seen as being vital to raise DDS morale and stop the Argon digging in too comfortably before the DDS are ready to launch a sustained and larger scale offensive.

Two Argon ships destroyed in skirmish
Two Argon ships, thought to be scout ships, have been destroyed in a skirmish with a DDS Rome 46A ship which was patrolling near Saeou. Its thought the Argon ships were intelligence gathering when one of the ships' cloaks failed.
A nearby Rome gave chase and opened fire on the retreating ships, destroying both with TPMs. The Rome was undamaged.

DDS depot attacked by Argon
An unmanned storage depot on an asteroid near Malau has been attacked and badly damaged by an Argon force. The depot, one of dozens the DDS maintain dotted across their space, stored spare parts and non-perishable supplies. They are usually left unmanned though have high levels of automated security.
They are not designed to withstand a sustained attack by an enemy fleet however. When the outer security line was breached the storage area was destroyed by placed charges to prevent anything falling into enemy hands (though the DDS say nothing that sensitive like TPMs is stored in facilities like this).

Starbot launches raids against VC faction
Starbotian troops have raided several homes and businesses thought to have links to the rebel VC faction on Starbot. A number of arrests were made of VC supporters though it is thought these were due to public order offences not because of links to the terrorists who detonated bombs across Starbot.

Argon issue ultimatum to Aldebra population
The population of Aldebra have been told they will have to leave the planet though have been assured they will not be evicted until the war is over (and presumably won by the Argon). The Argon said until then the population will not be unharmed though issued a veiled threat that obedience was expected otherwise there would be "consequences".

VC series separatists claim responsibility for attacks
The VC series are a rebel band of Starbotians who wish to separate from the rule of the central authority. They have caused problems in the past with attacks on Starbotian ships and terrorist incidents but that may have escalated dramatically after they claimed responsibility for the 17 bombs which exploded yesterday on Starbot killing hundreds.
Two further bombs were found and defused today. The VC leader VC404 says that the attacks will continue until the VC series are free. Starbotian commander S101 had told the DDS that Starbot may not be able to help in the war against the Argon because of the serious situation at home.
