Clones upgrade Kelsan bomber
The Clones have begun building the final eight Kelsan bombers for the Clone Space Navy. These ships will be upgraded with improved sensors, a more powerful engine (though top speed will remain the same, the extra power will improve acceleration) and twin quad-phase laser cannons for self-defence. The ships will be known as the Kelsan KSE.
The twenty-two earlier ships will be upgraded to KSE standard following the completion of production in a couple of years. Older ships will also be refurbished to extend the service life to a planned 2148-50.

NS Terrestrial Forces form five new regiments
NS Terrestrial Forces Land Division has formed five new regiments, three infantry, one armoured and one rocket artillery (NS-TFLD's first). All five will be Terran based and will spend the next two years working up to operational status as part of X03 Reserve Brigade West.
A number of existing regiments are also being shuffled to allow older regiments to reorganise and reform with improved equipment.

F-10A Shark leaves service
A veteran of the Clone Wars, the first DDS/NS warplane to achieve series production, the F-10A Shark has finally left service. The last squadron of F-10ASE's used in the LEO interception role were withdrawn after a ceremony on Proxima 7 earlier today. A flypast of F-10ASE's and their successor the F-10S Shark 2100 was made as part of the ceremony.
However, delays in producing the last twenty F-10SNGs has meant that the NS Terrestrial Forces Air Division (NS-TFAD) is short of fighters at the moment. Extending the F-10ASE's into 2122 was looked at but fatigue life and maintenance requirements were becoming big issues. NS-TFAD says the replacement planes should arrive next year.
The new long term LEO interception platform, the F-12 Hammerhead is said to have been delayed beyond 2123.
