The latest development build of the next generation n-Core engine family has successfully passed it's "torture test" and will now be prepared to begin field testing in an actual ship later this year. The test is the final part of the standard bench testing of a new engine and includes pushing the engine to it's limit during an extended simulated test.
UNDF Engineering said that the n-Core engine had largely passed the test with just a few issues with cooling, power management and resource utilisation. Feedback from the test will now be fed into the next build of the n-Core which will also run on a bench test until a further development will be installed aboard a Rome to begin field testing.
