Lynx programme resumes

The Lynx 35M programme, rebuilding Panther 35A cruisers to a unified Type 35 standard has finally resumed after being delayed by the war and the depleted state of the fleet afterwards. 35-503 Royal Tiger is the third ship to be rebuilt and has rejoined the fleet.

Royal Tiger is testing a development of the Gluon main drive. A Gluon TM-07X e-Core has been fitted to the ship (the other engine is a standard Gluon TM-07B-Y6). The e-Core engine is expected to have around 22% less fuel burn in cruise mode, though will have the same maximum output. If the engine test, which will run over the next six months, is a success then the engine will be rolled out to all Lynx.

Gomber makes surprise visit to Starbot

Admiral Gomber, the commander of SS Jurassic - the MBO-New Sparta flagship - and defacto deputy to Viceroy Caratore has paid a surprise visit to Starbot. This is the highest level visit of an NS official to Starbot since NS entered into it's new partnership with the Mutre Bee Organisation. It comes just days after Starbot said they were remaining an NS ally.

However, it is reported Gomber's meeting with S101 was tense and short. An unconfirmed report says Gomber accused Starbot of helping Windscorpion's outlaw organisation, the so-called Real DDS, though S101 has denied it.

Sea Urchin to remain in UNP role

Sea Urchin became the defacto head of the UNP after the rest of the government resigned after the link up by New Sparta and the Mutre Bee Organisation. With new elections due, it is expected that Sea Urchin will remain in a liaison role between the UNP and MBO-New Sparta. 

Although Viceroy Caratore dislikes Sea Urchin, especially after the former NS leader criticised MBO, it is thought he has chosen pragmatism and a known quantity in future relations with the UNP. Sea Urchin originally planned to step down but he has been persuaded to stay by other UNP figures, his experience in dealing with NS considered more vital than ever.

Porquat to send ships to assist Raegris

Porquat 640 have sent four ships from it's fleet to the Raegris where it will assist with patrolling Raegris space. The Raegris fleet was badly depleted in the war against the Terrasaurs and it will take years to rebuilt it. NS has sent an eight ship deployment already though more ships were needed so the Raegris could withdraw some of their own ships which badly need maintenance and in some cases repair from the war.

The Porquatian ships will remain for six months. It is possible a Molab deployment could replace them next year. Admiral Gomber was keen to highlight the co-operation of NS allies. "Team work makes the dream work!" he said.

Starbot to remain NS ally

Despite their misgivings over Mutre Bee (who for a short time was Starbotian Commander), Starbot has said it will remain an NS ally. This is a great boost for MBO-New Sparta due to the strategic space near Starbot and the proximity to the 7 Sa Sao.

In truth Starbot had little choice following the decision of the other NS allies including the Free Eritran States to remain as it would have been isolated. Privately it is thought Caratore has agreed to keep the MBO involvement discreet on Starbot. For example, it is thought Mutre Bee will visit a number of NS allies when he comes to New Sparta next year though he will not visit Starbot.

Bite takes over Mosk operations

Tribune Bite has taken over oversight of the Dino response to recent Mosk minority terror attacks on Pulsin. The initial harsh SS reprisals have caused dismay both inside the Dino Empire and wider DTA. Bite says that any further responses will be proportionate.

Bite said he favours dialogue and has reached out to the Mosk though as yet the anti-Dino factions in the Mosk population have yet to reply.

NS admit ship stolen from "scrapyard"

NS have admitted that SS Green Lane has been stolen from a ship dispersal and disposal yard in the Solaris system. An explosion in the yard reported previously is thought to have been the cover for the theft. No debris was found and the ship has now been confirmed to have been taken.

SS Green Lane was a recently withdrawn Deterrence 53A light patrol craft. Although the ship had been withdrawn it was still fully operation and powered up, though decommissioning had been due to commence just before the theft. The identity of the thieves is unknown though the so-called Real DDS are suspected.

Dino Army to oversee Pulsin operations

Following a review by the Dino Senate, instigated by Senator Jimmy, it has been decided that the Dino Army will have an oversight role in the SS response to Mosk terror attacks on Pulsin. Jimmy has said that the SS must refrain from it's usual reaction of "committing atrocities until they get bored".

Tribune Bite, second in command of the elite 6th Legion, has been chosen to oversee the SS operation. He is already en route to Pulsin.

Mysterious explosion at NS scrapyard to be investigated by NSIS

An explosion at the main NS scrapyard in the Solaris system is to be investigated by NSIS. The explosion completely destroyed a retired Deterrence light patrol craft, killing two NS Engineering personnel aboard who were preparing for the ship's decommissioning. An NS source said the ship, SS Green Lane, had only recently been withdrawn and it's reactor was still operational. An accident cannot be ruled out though NS Engineering said it would be highly unusual.

Two more NS ships have been sent to the scrapyard to increase security. An NSIS team of investigators is en route. 

Non-Saurian DTA members question Dino actions on Pulsin

The Dino Empire is coming under scrutiny from the non-Saurian members of the Dino Trade Association after it's actions against the Mosk on Pulsin. The Aritans have said the Dinos must show restraint, the Voth quickly followed up saying the Dinos must talk to the Mosk not massacre them.

This will be unwelcome to the Dinos, though the Aritans and Voth are not major members of the DTA. The reaction of the Sirikwanese, who have questioned the use of the SS, will be of more concern.

Jimmy halts SS operations on Pulsin pending review

Senator Jimmy has used his position as Head of the Dino Senate to force a debate on SS operations on Pulsin. As per Dino Empire rules the SS operations are now on hold until the debate can take place. Censor Ronald is currently on Xi and Emperor MBH is on Jeloka which means a debate won't happen for a few days at the earliest.

Jimmy said the SS cannot use the Mosk attacks as an excuse to commit war crimes. SS-Commander Solax has complied with the Senate though has still continued the mobilisation of the Special Operations Battlegroup.

SS wipe out Mosk village

Local media on Pulsin is reporting that three Dinomarks from the SS Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade have launched an attack on a Mosk village some three hundred kilometres from the capital. According to reports the village of an estimated sixty Mosk was completely wiped out by the SS. Including women and children though state media is not commenting on the raid.

On Dino-Land Senator Jimmy has said the SS must ensure only the guilty are punished. "The Mosk attacks have been severe but it doesn't mean they have a carte blanche to commit massacres." Given the nature of the SS forces deployed and it's notorious commander Kenora that might be difficult to avoid.

Kenya joins the fleet

35-317 Kenya, a Kinetic 35C cruiser, is the latest ship to join the MBO-New Sparta fleet and is a welcome addition to the front line of the fleet as it rebuilds following the war. Four remaining Kinetics are on order though Viceroy Caratore is expected to sign off on a further three soon.

Two more Deterrence 53A light patrol craft have been withdrawn, these are 53-110 Orrell and 53-119 Birkenhead Central.

SS mobilise Special Operations Battlegroup

SS-Commander Solax has ordered the mobilisation of the SS Special Operations Battlegroup, an elite formation designed for anti-terrorist operations and including the notorious SS Flamethrower Company. Solax is said to be ready to send the battlegroup to Pulsin if the Mosk attacks continue to escalate.

The 2nd Infantry Regiment of the SS Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade has landed on Pulsin without incident after the shooting down of the SS flagship SS-1. SS-Tribune Kenora is said to preparing options for a fight back against the Mosk.

SS flagship shot down on Pulsin

The SS flagship, SS-1, has been shot down while landing at the Imperial Palace on Pulsin in an attack by Mosk separatists. SS-1 was bringing the command staff of the SS Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade to Pulsin to beef up Dino response to the Mosk terrorist attacks including the crashing of a transport ship on the city.

SS-1 landed heavily after it's landing jet was knocked out by a surface to air missile. The Dinos have reported one member of crew died and others were injured. The head of the brigade SS-Tribune Kenora was not injured and led the counterattack, five Mosk were killed and one captured. Kenora has ordered the palace complex be put under the strictest lockdown. SS-1 is considered repairable.
