First Dino CSM brigade declared operational

The 1st Space Artillery Brigade, part of the 1st Legion of the Dino Army, has been declared operational. The unit will be equipped with the Dino Interstellar Missile (DIM), a Dino version of the CSM. At the moment the brigade has Clone built CSMs and a number of mobile launchers. The exact number of missiles available is not known though the Clones have supplied sixteen missiles in total to the Dinos but some were used against the Terrasaurs.

A Dino Army source said that the missiles will not have nuclear warheads and the brigade will be mostly involved with training and integration testing with other Dino Army units. The first DIMs will be delivered next year. Three more brigades are planned to be formed by 2127.

SS sent to Pulsin in anti-terror effort

Several hundred more SS troops are being sent to Pulsin including men from the elite (and vicious) Black Dragon Martyrs Brigade. The Mosk, the indigenous species of Pulsin, have been blamed for the bomb attack that resulted in a cargo ship crashing on the capital killing over a hundred people, mostly in a shopping mall. Mosk terrorists have carried out a low-level campaign against the Dinos for years though this attack is a major escalation.

SS-Commander Solax said that the SS would lead efforts against Mosk terrorists, though he stressed that innocent Mosk had nothing to fear. In the past however a number of massacres of Mosk villagers have taken place following attacks.

Sirikwanese ambassador among those killed in Pulsin attack

The Sirikwanese ambassador to the Dino Republic, El-Takakson, was among the 117 people killed when a cargo Dinomark XT crashed into a shopping mall in the Pulsin capital. The ambassador was visiting Pulsin for a trade show.

Sirikwan has demanded more information on the Mosk insurgency which has raged on Pulsin for years. It is suspected the Mosk planted the bomb which is now thought to have bought the Dinomark down.

Mass casualties reported after cargo Dinomark crashes in Pulsin capital city

An ex-military Dinomark XT operated by a cargo company has crashed in the Pulsin capital city Pulsara. The XT is reported to have come down on a large shopping mall. Mass casualties have been reported, maybe even over a hundred. The reactor core of the XT was found intact with no radiation loss.

Senator Jimmy has called an emergency meeting of the Senate Security Council. An unconfirmed report states the XT may have been suffered an internal explosion before it came down.

Dinos announce large scale reorganisation of Dino Army

The Dino Minister of Defence Malanson has announced the largest reorganisation of the Dino Army for decades. The reorganisation, which will take a number of years to complete, will result in a more nimble and efficient army he said. Malanson said that the Dino Army has become unwieldily in recent years after expanding to seventeen legions. The reorganisation would reduce that to just five legions, which would be larger units.

The new legions would each consist of four divisions. Each division would be commanded by a Senior Tribune and consist of three brigades plus support units including artillery and aerial assets. One of the divisions would be the legion reserve and also contain support units for the legion staff. The legion would be commanded by a Praetor. Divisions would become the primary deployable units, the legion largely becoming an administrative formation.

The 6th Legion, which is Censor Ronald's honour guard and only consists of a few dozen individuals, will be unaffected by the changes. The SS Legion will also remain unchanged for now. The reorganisation will begin in earnest next year.

NS admits defection of Dr Forbidden

MBO-New Sparta has admitted that the head of NS Research Dr Forbidden has defected to the so-called Real DDS renegade faction. Viceroy Caratore's deputy Admiral Gomber has cursed the "betrayal of the chief geek" which will be "punished one day with maximum intensity". He added that the function of NS Research would not be affected.

Dr Forbidden is thought to have defected during the attack on a research base on Proxima 7. The commander of the base has been executed.

Reports of Real DDS attack on Proximan base

Details are still scant but it appears a research base on Proxima 7 has been attacked by the so-called Real DDS. The base was struck by the stolen ship SS Cicero, firing ground attack energy bolts from orbit. The helipad of the base was destroyed including one helicopter. Three people are reported dead. The base may have been infiltrated though no trace of Real DDS has been found.

The Cicero fired on an intercepting MBO-NS warship before cloaking and retreating. The MBO-NS warship was not damaged. Viceroy Caratore has demanded a full report.

Monitor renamed Heavy Attack Squad

The singleton Type 18A monitor has been renamed from SS Windscorpion to SS Heavy Attack Squad, this is due to Windscorpion now being the head of a traitorous faction the so-called Real DDS. Heavy Attack Squad was due to the name of the second Type 18A if it had been built though this was cancelled by Viceroy Caratore earlier this year. Heavy Attack Squad was the original name of the DDS though the name was only used for a short time.

The future of the Type 18A is uncertain, whatever it's name is. The ship has been tied up since May due to a lack of available crew. It is hoped the ship will begin a cruise before the end of the year though as yet nothing has been scheduled.

Operation Ground Shock 2122

The annual ground attack exercise, postponed from earlier in the year due to the war and it's aftermath, will finally take place next week. The exercise will last for four days (slightly shorter than usual) but will culminate in a live nuclear weapon attack on a target built in an asteroid field near Solaris. Before that there will be a number of simulated attacks by NS bombers and defence suppression tests.

Caratore to meet Oojok, Remedians

Caratore is to make his first trip away from New Sparta since becoming Viceroy. He will travel to Paragon on the edge of the Clone Star Empire and will meet Oojok. He will meet Oojok before heading onto visit the Remedian Belt.

Viceroy Caratore's personal ship (and the flagship) SS Jurassic is currently unavailable due to the fitting of a new secure communication suite, he instead will use one of the VIP equipped Rome fleet.

Three Sting 58A scouts enter service

Three Sting 58A light scouts have joined the NS fleet following localisation and upgrade work after being transferred from the Mutre Bee Organisation. Seven more will join the fleet by the end of the year and perform liaison, scouting and light patrol duties.

Two Deterrence 53A light patrol craft have left service after becoming life expired, these are 53-131 Bidston and 53-133 Walton.

Sea Urchin criticised for comments on MBO

Sea Urchin, still a UNP Minister and defacto leader of the UNP pending a new election, has been criticised by Viceroy Caratore after he compared the MBO-New Sparta to the Rotarios/AP New DDS regimes. Sea Urchin is reported to have told a group of UNP officials that "the UNP and New Sparta survived the rule of Rotarios and later AP as part of the Hood reign of terror, we can survive the Mutre Bee regime".

Sea Urchin has denied he meant any offence, merely that he was stating that the UNP and NS can survive upheaval though Caratore is thought to be incensed that he has been compared (in his eyes) to Rotarios or AP.

Caratore may accelerate his plans for the UNP which may include appointing a liaison officer to represent MBO-New Sparta in the UNP government (replacing Sea Urchin) and agreeing to new elections.

Colonel Rasp arrives to head NSIS Counter-Espionage Unit

Colonel Rasp, a Mutre Bee Organisation expert in military intelligence and counter-espionage, has arrived to take over the NSIS Counter-Espionage Unit. It is thought the primary mission for Rasp will be to discover the location of the traitorous so-called Real DDS of Windscorpion.

Viceroy Caratore has grown impatient with existing efforts in NSIS, hence recent reorganisations by Investigator Koval.
