NS have begun design studies into an unmanned strike platform to augment the existing bomber and LRM fleets. The as-yet unnamed programme (publicly that is) could be a variant of the upcoming Lavender unmanned warship and would be designed to lurk in deep space close to an enemy for extended periods before infiltrating defences.
The ship would either launch first-strike attacks itself or help direct LRMs onto pin-point targets. VP (Tech) Knobhead said at the moment NS were just exploring options and could eventually just add new capabilities to existing platforms.
