Dino power grid collapse expected to last for a week
While some towns have had power restored much of Dino-Land including the capital Dino-Town are still without power after the cyber attack which destroyed the planetary power grid. There have been reports of unrest in major cities and a number of fatalities at medical facilities.
The entire Dino Army and SS have been mobilised. Some sources are indicating the cyber attack may have been an "inside job" which is how it was able to evade the layers of defences designed to prevent external attacks by the likes of the Bolitic.

NS confirm attempted terror attack on Solaris
NS has confirmed that the lock down at the McKell Nuclear Reprocessing Plant on Solaris was due to an attempted terrorist attack. The attack was foiled with the terrorist killed by an NSIS sniper. Two NS soldiers were injured during the attempted attack which is an attempt to shoot down an aeroplane onto nuclear waste storage silos. NS said both soldiers will recover.
NSIS are also investigating the death of a senior manager at the plant which might be related to the terror attack.

Dino-Land hit by planet wide power cuts
Dino-Land has been hit by planet wide power cuts as the planetary grid has collapsed. It is thought over eighty percent of properties are without power. Emperor MBH has ordered full mobilisation of the Dino Army and SS. The Dino Senate and Dino Army HQ have also relocated, as per emergency plans, to a secret location off-world.
Sources indicate the grid collapse may be due to a massive cyber attack. However it is not known how this could have occurred after much work that has taken place to prevent such an attack.

NS silent on security lock down at nuclear reprocessing plant
The McKell Nuclear Reprocessing Plant on Solaris is reported to have been locked down by NSIS with three Prowler units rushed to the area to support NSIS personnel already on site. NS are not commenting on it.
However a civilian source is reporting that there may have been a terrorist attempt to crash a cargo aeroplane into nuclear waste storage silos. The plant reprocesses and holds huge amounts of nuclear waste, mostly from space ships. Any major radiation release could affect huge swaths of Solaris and key industrial facilities.

Dinos launch first DSM Dino Space Missile
The Dinos have joined the interstellar missile club with the first test launch of the Dino Space Missile (DSM) from a silo on Jeloka. The missile hit a target in the Pulsin system four light years away, though the warhead was inert.
DSM is the Dino's version of the Clone Space Missile which they bought in a huge deal a couple of years ago. The Clones are building the Dinos two hundred missiles after which the Dinos will build their own. They have also bought no less than a hundred mobile launchers indicating the Dinos plan to mass deploy DSM across the DTA. The warhead to be used on DSM is a Dino design.
The Dinos have not yet said when they plan to deploy DSM operationally.

New Utrek Federation to be formed
Following a period of chaos after the crippling defeat at the hands of the Mantae and the devastation of their capital planet the Utrek Federation is starting to come together again though in a more decentralised form.
The various competing warlords and factions have been overthrown by war weary citizens and six successor states have formed plus a number of independent (though rather minor) worlds. These six states have met to form a new looser Utrek Federation.
The six states are:
Voltiga-Molentic Republic
Korel Independent State
New Utrek Union
Utrel Prime
Urlik Mentenna Union
Eastern Republic
Of the states the Korel have formed an alliance with the UNP and it is hoped this will help New Sparta develop relationships with the rest of tht Utrek, though the Voltiga-Molentic Republic are still fairly hostile, being in an alliance with the Bolitic.
The new Utrek Federation is likely to have a rotating presidency and remain a loose trade and co-operation body with the successor states going it alone in other areas including defence. New Sparta is already negotiating a huge ship order with the Korel.

Oojok reins in his son
Oojok is said to have had lengthy talks with his son Terin, his designated heir and head of the Eastern half of the Clone Star Empire. Terin is thought to have been the main instigator behind the Miliaris CSM crisis and was keen to ramp up tensions with the Eritrans. It is even rumoured he was preparing for conflict.
Oojok however has been firm that the CSE must avoid a fourth Clone War. Despite some rhetoric the Clones do not want to fight a major war at the moment, especially with New Sparta. After decades of boom and bust economic problems following the end of the Third Clone Wars the CSE economy finally seems to have stabilised and Oojok is keen for this to continue.

NS and Clones discuss denuclearised zone
Following the tensions over the (now cancelled) deployment of CSM to Miliaris near the Clone Star Empire / Free Eritran States border New Sparta and the Clones have begun discussions on making a ten lightyear wide zone over the border free of nuclear weapons.
This would mean no deployment of nuclear tipped CSM, LRM or ship based weapons to Miliaris or Molab which would both fall inside the denuclearised zone. It is thought the Clones are keen though Molab are suspicious and are asking how it could be policed.
