Dinos to send another twenty ships to Voth

The Dinos are preparing another twenty Dinomarks to be sent to Voth to reinforce the fleet already in the area as the Terrasaur threat rapidly grows. The Dinos now think this is a concerted offensive by the Terrasaurs not the actions of a lone or a couple of ships though the location of the Terrasaur fleet is unknown.

The Dinos have also recalled thirty older Dinomark XTs from it's civilian reserve back to military duties. These ships will take over routine and low-threat duties to release more modern ships for possible front line use.

Clones claim to have developed superluminal induction drive

Induction drives which have no emissions are perfect for stealth though are low in power, the fastest NS test ship with an induction drive was able to achieve 0.2c. This is fine for slow careful cruising under cloak but has limited tactical use.

However, the Clones claim to have developed an induction drive which can propel a ship at up to seven times the speed of light (7c). The Head of the CDF Admiral Anderson said that an induction drive will be fitted to a Molentic Tuul for an extended field test later this year. It is hoped the Clone Space Navy will be able to roll out mass use of the induction drive by the end of the 2120s.

Fleet News 04/04/21

The final ships from the 2120/21 Ship Building Plan have been completed. 

57-202 Venus Flytrap is the second Violet 57B patrol ship to be completed and has joined the patrol fleet.

35-313 Knotweed is the latest Kinetic 35C cruiser. Also completed is 71-129 Solaris Provider. This latest Provider 71A transport was funded by the Solaris government and will be shared between NS and the Solaris government.

Dinomark patrol attacked by Terrasaurs

The Dinos have announced that a patrol sent out to discover the Terrasaurs location has been successful, so successful in fact the Dinomark was attacked! The ship, thought to be a Dinomark XT, was badly damaged in the attack and boarded by Terrasaur troops. Only the timely arrival of Dino reinforcements prevented the surviving crew's capture. The Dinos say that six crew members were killed including the commanding officer. The XT has been written off and will be salvaged for spares before being destroyed.

The Terrasaur ship was badly damaged but was able to withdraw. Senator Malanson, who commands Dino forces in the area, said that patrols would continue but not lone ships anymore.
