President Windscorpion has announced the second of (up to) four extra short-notice exercises. These are designed to test New Sparta's ability to rapidly assemble forces and juggle strained resources. Extra 2120B will be a mine warfare exercise, a large mine field has been "discovered" near Solaris affecting shipping lanes and must be cleared as soon as possible.
Two Raegris minelayers (operating under secret orders from Windy) have laid around 100 training mines. An NS minesweeping force will begin clearing them tomorrow. The Raegris will remain in the area to cause nuisance during the operation.

Mutre Bee attack on DSA foiled
NSIS has revealed that a Mutre Bee attack on the DNA Scanning Agency HQ at NS GHQ, Proxima 5 has been foiled. VP (Ops) Torus said that a Mutre Bee clone had managed to disable DSA's security to allow an attack team of Mutre Bee special forces to enter the building.
However NSIS found out about the impending attack in time, Prowler units were able to kill the Mutre Bee soldiers and the clone. Torus has said that DSA security protocols were already being updated.

NS ship lost to Mantae
Kinetic 35C cruiser 35-303 Kelvin has been destroyed in a battle between an NS expeditionary force and a Mantae fleet. The two fleets had engaged earlier in the day with several NS ships receiving damage, two Mantae ships were destroyed.
After a lull in the battle the two fleets engaged against, NS was able to destroy five more Mantae but Kelvin was destroyed after losing main power. Several other ships were damaged and there were a number of deaths across the fleet including all hands on Kelvin.
The Mantae fleet has withdrawn back towards their space. The NS fleet is also returning to Starbot. President Windscorpion has raised the alert status to ORANGE.

Two ships have joined the fleet this month, 36-112 Mexico is the latest Mulberry 36A cruiser to join the fleet.
44-123 Achaeus is the latest Pentekonter 44M to join the fleet as a spare minesweeper and also prototype for the upgraded Pentekonter 2120 standard which includes an e-Core engine and TPM-VLS among other changes,
