NS change how they upgrade ships
At a conference held by NS Engineering Vice-President Knobhead gave details on how the way NS upgrades it's classes of ship has changed. While major updates every ten (roughly) years such as the ILU and MULE will continue NS is moving away from yearly updates.
Knobhead said instead new updates will be rolled out throughout the year, when ready instead of waiting for a set period. This has the advantage of getting the latest technologies to the front line faster, ships spend less time out of action and also it is easier to troubleshoot one change rather than handle multiple changes together.

NSIS think shuttle explosion was assassination attempt
NSIS are reporting that the explosion that destroyed President Sea Urchin's shuttle was a terrorist act and an attempt to assassinate the President. Only a last minute change of plan saved Sea Urchin from death. His aide and other officials died in the explosion.
Torus has reported to the NS Politburo that bomb fragments have been found in the wreckage. It is thought the bomb was set to explode at a certain altitude as the shuttle climbed away from NS GHQ air base.
The mechanic who worked on the shuttle was found dead in a sewer the day after the explosion, cause of death blunt force trauma to the head. An investigation is ongoing into who is behind the bomb.

Fleet News 01/12/18
Two ships have been completed, the last before the end of year shutdown.
042-106 Pyris is the latest Proxima Centauri 42A rebuild and has entered service with the Patrol fleet. SS Isometric could be the next conversion, originally it was to be the last, but the ship has developed cracks in part of it's reactor array so has been pushed up the list.
076-110 Zord is the latest and likely to be the final Zephyr 76A fast tanker to enter service.
