VP (Ops) Torus has said that NSIS needs to up it's game in espionage and intelligence gathering. She said that while NSIS has proven adept at counter-espionage, NS needed to go on the offensive and discover enemy intentions and capabilities as soon as possible.

Clones to deploy more CSM
The Clones are to increase their number of active Clone Space Missiles. The number active is secret but is thought to be around two hundred (including ten deployed on the Clone Navy's three active ballistic missile submarines). An NS analyst says it is likely the number will be increased to 250.
Currently land based missiles are deployed on Cloneworld, Sandworld and Austini 55 (although silos have been built on two other planets though it is thought they have standard ICBMs only). NS have reported possibly silos being built on Taragargi. CSM deployed here would be able to reach much of the Rim Worlds.

First F-10SNG delivered
The first of forty F-10SNG Shark 2100 multi-role fighters has been delivered to the NS Terrestrial Forces Air Corps. This is the third and final batch of the F-10S and has a number of updates over the F-10SEP. It has an improved tactical system and ECM suite. The engines have been upgraded and have 3D vector thrust. The SNG will bring the F-10S fleet up to 130 strong. At the end of the 2120s the F-20 will begin replacing the oldest F-10S.
The SNG itself will replace the final F-10A Sharks. These Clone War veterans are due to be withdrawn by 2122.

New Bombardier version to be built
The Clone Air Force has ordered two hundred new Bombardier attack aircraft. The type is one of the iconic weapons of the Clone Wars with nearly one and a half thousand still in service. The new aircraft will be known as the K84G and will have improved engines, new IR sensors, improved avionics and a new radio.
The CAF wants to maintain a force level of 1,500 so most of the K84Gs will replace older aircraft. The existing order for K84FMs have been cancelled and replaced by this new order.

CAF induct Q01 into service
The Q01 Kestrel UCAV-RX has entered service. This is a stealthy supersonic reconnaissance drone which has been in development for some time. The Kestrel project has been very secretive but the Clone Air Force have given some details. It can reach Mach 2 and is long-ranged, intended for strategic reconnaissance.
The Kestrel is controlled by a command K72 Mustang though ground control is also possible. The Kestrel also has a number of autonomous control features for self-defence and for mission adaptation.

In a sign that Deputy Emperor Terin, Oojok's son and heir, is being prepared for eventual succession as leader of the Clone Star Empire he gave a speech at the annual commemoration of the Liberation of Cloneworld (the date the DDS was defeated in the First Clone War). NS have only used this weapon once during the war with the Rectoids where it was used to destroy agriculture on the Rectoid homeworld helping bringing about a collapse of the state*.

It is assumed that other major powers like the Clones and Tarbotians also have the potential to create this technology. Clones begin production of Cosmos CM
The first Cosmos CM has begun production at a new ship yard in orbit around Sandworld. The Cosmos CM will revitalise the ageing second line space fleet eventually replacing the Kalahati Tuul S and Cosmos CA ships. The Clones have confirmed that 60 Cosmos CM will be built.
These will replace 37 Kalahati Tuul S and the remaining 18 Cosmos CAs. It is likely that some of the oldest Cosmos CKs will also be replaced. The first Cosmos CM is expected to enter service next year.

Clones planning regeneration of space transport fleet
With Clone space ship yards now flowing once again after years of budget restrictions and inactivity the Clone Space Navy has turned to address a matter of critical importance: the ageing of the transport fleet. Much of the transport fleet, vital in keeping the empire and armed forces supplied, dates from the Clone Wars and is reaching the end of it's safe fatigue life.
The Clones will begin production of the Freighter TYA8, an updated version of it's mainstay type, in 2121. This will have a new engine and strengthened structure and will be able to reach 300c. The Clones plan to build 20 TYA8s over the decade allowing older Freighters to be replaced.
The most urgent requirement is to replace the fleet of Nerval TYBs. These are fast wearing out and none are expected to be viable beyond 2125. They will be replaced by an upgraded version of the Loader (TYC2) which will be speed boosted to 500c.

Windy surprises NS by announcing Quarz is alive... kind of
President Windscorpion has surprised NS by revealing that Quarz, former NS officer, is alive. Well sort of. The Quarz that is alive is one which Windy bought back from a visit to a parallel universe several years ago. Quarz was still alive in that universe which was said to be a strange reality where Hank Wolfmann had taken over the DDS.
Windy said that this new Quarz (whom he referred to as New Quarz) had been in NSIS custody for the last few years and was considered not a security risk. New Quarz has been assigned first officer duties on a warship.

Stinkyson named new SS-CINT chief
Ronald's second son Stinkyson, a former SS-Commander, has been named the new Minister of the Intelligence Services and public head of SS-CINT (the operational head is unknown). Krusty had held this role before but after his presumed death the post had been left vacant - Ronald handled intelligence business himself. When Krusty was found to be alive it was assumed he would return to his old job but he disappeared on his return to Dino-Land. Krusty's whereabouts are unknown, it is rumoured he may have joined a temple or monastery (he is known to be a layperson of the Cult of Orach).
Ronald has therefore decided to make a permanent appointment. Stinkyson has publicly changed his political allegiance from the Liberal Party to Imperial Order and will vote along that party's lines in the Dino Senate.

DTA go for Pentekonter for mine warfare force
In a big blow to the Clones who were almost certain of winning the contract, the DTA has instead gone for NS technology for it's big Joint-Force Mine Warfare Squadron (JFMWS) project. This will be a pan-DTA asset dedicated to mine warfare. Twenty-five Pentekonter-Ms will be bought with deliveries expected from 2122, the JFMWS aims to become operational by 2125.
Five of the Pentekonters will be equipped with a customised version of the Pave Orange mine sweeping direction system. NS use Romes for this role but there is no reasons why it can't be used on Pentekonters too. The specification of the ships has yet to be made public but it is expected they will follow the Protector 280M style though with TPM-VLS (as the DTA already have this). The total value of the contract has also not been made public but is said to be around 10 billion zarks.

Krusty alive after all!
Senator Krusty, who headed the Dino intelligence services, was thought lost in the joint Dino-NS operation against the Mutre Bee last year. However he was a prisoner of the Mutre Bee all this time. He was rescued by the double agent Tiger when he made his escape from a forward operations base of the Mutre Bee organisation.
Krusty has now been transferred to a Dino ship and is being returned to Dino-Land. He will undergo a full psych evaluation before any move to return him to service.

Two ships have joined the fleet this month. 57-116 Palmetto is the latest Protector 57A patrol ship. It has a number of differences from earlier ships, being the first "Spec B Protector" though the differences are mostly to internal systems and some layout changes. Weapons and powerplant are unchanged.

Some time ago Tiger appeared to have become a traitor and joined the Mutre Bee's organisation. However at a media briefing at NS GHQ today President Windscorpion revealed the truth.
