Lornaca Melnig, a recent addition to the empire, has until now been a fairly unimportant part of the Clone Star Empire, notable mostly for being where Captain Clone was killed. The HCS have announced there will be a major new military base built on the planet to house up to 6 brigades of troops. Extensive maintenance and storage facilities will also be built. The orbital space dock will also be replaced with a much larger facility that can serve up to 30 ships at any one time.
Lornaca Melnig is in a very strategic position near the Rim Worlds and it is thought the HCS want this as a base of operations for their strategic efforts in the region. There are also reports that HCS surveyors have been looking for possible sites for CSM silos though the HCS have denied they are planning to site any missiles on the planet.
