Windscorpion 2068-2125

The UNDF have confirmed the death of Windscorpion, the Apogee of Man and the ultimate fighting machine. UNDF Commander Torus said that Windscorpion led the attack on the MBO moon HQ, infiltrating the base inside a specially modified TPM. Once inside the MBO base he began to ruthlessly hunt down the Mutre Bee. Torus said that a video feed from Windy's helmet shows the unprecedented destruction wrought by Windy against the core of the MBO.

Windy engaged Mutre Bee in combat which was intended to lure Mutre Bee into the centre of the base. As well as Windy's TPM, four MRMs fitted with extra-high yield cluster nuclear warheads were fired into the core of the moon, where a massive power array was located. The moon was destroyed by the massive explosion, this also killed both Mutre Bee and Windy.

The debris from the moon explosion is estimated to have wiped out 99% of the hundreds of MBO warships assembled around the moon. Torus said that the MBO have been crippled as a fighting force. They may be able to rebuild but it will take them a very long time. It is not known if the Mutre Bee can be resurrected.

UNDF claim MBO has been destroyed once and for all!

The UNDF has claimed they have destroyed the moon HQ of the Mutre Bee Organisation and the debris wiped out an estimated 97% of the entire MBO fleet! Windscorpion led a joint UNDF-Dino force to attack the MBO. All four Mutre Bee cloning vats are reported to have been destroyed which means that a new Mutre Bee clone cannot be created. Mutre Bee is thought to have been killed by Windscorpion who attacked the moon HQ. The UNDF destroyed the moon using MRMs with very high yield cluster warhead which directly attacked the moon's massive power plant battery.

Whether Windscorpion survived the destruction of the moon is currently unknown. UNDF Commander Torus has applauded the attack and has reduced the alert status to CYAN.

UNDF strikes MBO bases in Rim Worlds

The UNP Defence Force has launched a number of strikes on MBO bases which have been found in the Rim Worlds. It has been reported that two bases were hit by MRMs, a third base was raided by DF Marines. All three bases were largely empty and thought to have been prepared for potential future operations against the UNDF.

Stella said that just one casualty was reported but was not life threatening. She said that other potential MBO bases are being sought.

UNDF capture MBO transport carrying looted equipment

The UNDF has announced that it has found, intercepted and captured an MBO transport near Saeou. The transport was carrying equipment looted from NS including eight Gluon family engines, four worm drives, heat exchangers and other vital equipment. The looting of this equipment has bought new ship construction and even maintenance to a stand still.

The equipment is now being returned to Solaris. Commander Torus has said new ship construction must be ramped up to restore the fleet which has been degraded by the MBO.

NS changes name to UNDF (United Nations of Planets Defence Force)

At a joint media briefing with UNP Defence chief Sea Urchin, Torus has announced the new name for New Sparta. NS has now become the United Nations of Planets Defence Force, though UNDF will be the usual name used. Torus said the new name would be rolled out over the following year, the priority for UNDF was to prepare for any reprisals by the MBO.

"The MBO are our greatest threat." Torus said, "They possess a large fleet which has been augmented by the best of our technology which they looted. Their cloning technology has been defeated but they have many more ways to attack us so all of us must be ready."

DDS City hit by MBO attack

Four MBO ships made a suicidal attack on DDS City on Proxima 7 earlier today. All four ships were destroyed by NS ships and ground defences but the MBO ships were able to launch a devastating attack on the largest NS facility.

Dozens of NS personnel are reported lost after two buildings were destroyed including a major administrative facility. The oil storage depot has also been set ablaze. NS Commander Torus has strengthened the NS fleet over key planets.

Fighting between NS and MBO continues as Torus re-takes control

Gun battles between NS and MBO forces have been reported at a dozen locations across the UNP, though the outnumbered MBO are being quickly defeated. Unfortunately, they are fighting to the death which means NS is also taking heavy casualties.

In space there have been a number of battles between NS ships and MBO ships, also a rebellion on a ship with a heavy MBO crew complement which resulted in a self-destruction, the ship is thought to have been the Nectar cruiser SS Nimrod. The Corkscrew destroyer SS Comet was also reported lost after it was ambushed by three MBO ships.

One key concern is the NS nuclear weapons. Torus has said that the LRM force was dual-key controlled by the MBO and NS but a fractal encryption lock has been put on the LRM launch system so it can't be launched (by anyone). NSIS Marines are now securing the launch sites.

Torus has been confirmed as NS Commander again by a hastily assembled meeting of senior NS officers. Torus will not return to NS GHQ for the time being, SS Jurassic is being used as her flagship.

Starbot considers leaving NS alliance network

S101 has said that Starbot's time as an NS ally may be coming to an end. He said that Starbot had long been Dino Empire allies as well, for decades before any alliance with the DDS/NS. Now that the Dinos and MBO-New Sparta were at loggerheads and could be entering a Cold War, Starbot could be forced to choose which side it was on. S101 did not say which side they would choose.

Starbot is also very distrustful of the Mutre Bee, who for a time was Starbotian leader. This is a time the Starbotians do not remember fondly. 

MBO forces attack Dino facility!

An MBO special forces unit is reported to have attacked the SS Medical Research HQ on Dino-Land. A small team of MBO commandos landed at the base and proceeded to enter the building. They encountered heavy opposition from the SS troops guarding the facility. After a short but intense battle the MBO commandos were pinned down. They were later killed by reinforcements which arrived from SS-D special forces.

All eight MBO troops, plus the pilot of their landing ship which was destroyed, were killed. The Dinos are reporting twelve SS were killed and others injured.

Emperor MBH has called an emergency session of the Dino Senate.

Special report : Origin of the Mutre Bee

A special report examining the origins and background of the head of the MBO.

The Mutre Bee’s origins have for a long time been shrouded in mystery, was he human or some other species? Why does he have this insatiable need for control and power? Why his obsession with bees? Recent unearthed documents, some ironically thanks to the Mutre Bee Organisation take over of New Sparta, have finally revealed some of the secrets of the Mutre Bee though much remains a mystery or is still unclear.

The Mutre Bee is thought to be Dr Velmin Mutre, a mid-21st century genetic and AI scientist based in Central Europe. Dr Mutre was obsessed with “conquering death” and was employing his genius in genetic engineering, robotics and artificial intelligence to that end.

His first creation was a robot assistant with advanced AI. This robot was called Honey, and it is thought that an upgraded and rebuilt version of Honey is nowadays Mutre Bee’s deputy and operational head General Honey. 

With the help of Honey, Dr Mutre (who was a keen beekeeper, and had majored in insect anatomy and genetics at university) was exploring the use of honey bee genetic data to augment the human biome in order to slow down or even stop human aging. His work was starting to bear fruit but a life changing event changed the course of Dr Mutre’s life and one day even that of the galaxy.

Dr Mutre is thought to have been diagnosed with a terminal and incurable disease. Dr Mutre’s work was now sped up, his aim was to create an augmented clone of himself without the disease and then transfer his mind to it. As his health failed, Dr Mutre and Honey worked day and night on creating the first clone, which Dr Mutre called the Mutre Bee.

Although Dr Mutre was not completely happy with the clone he knew he had to transfer his mind to it as he only had days of life left. Thus the first Mutre Bee clone was given life. Dr Mutre’s mind was successfully transferred to the clone. However, the Mutre Bee was not perfect. His mind was damaged in the transfer, often psychotic even insane at times. He was also obsessed with bees, it is not known if this is due to the honey bee DNA added to his biome or because of the mental issues.

By now (2060s) Europe was in turmoil due to the Third World War but travel off world was now becoming available. Mutre Bee and Honey relocated to a lab on the new colony of Proxima Centauri 7. Work continued on perfecting Mutre Bee’s cloning technology. He and Honey worked on a completely artificial bio-mechanical life form, the forerunner of today’s Mutre Bee Drones, to create an army. Mutre Bee intended to take over a planet in the embryonic UNP. 

However, the authorities were alerted to something strange going on. Mutre Bee fled Proxima 7 and moved to a new lab and base on an unclaimed world. The location of this world has never been discovered, it is thought that his main database and cloning facility for Mutre Bee clones still exists at this secret base. 

The database records all of Mutre Bee’s thoughts so a new clone can be generated within hours of the previous one being killed. It is thought Mutre Bee is currently on his seventh clone. Mutre Bee created the Mutre Bee Organisation and in a far off location began to build a powerful fleet and army of Drones. 

Mutre Bee came to prominence in the late 21st century, attempting to take over various states including Starbot. He became a major threat in the early 22nd century when his perfected cloning technology could create near identical clones of people within days. Data gathering and AI then created a workable personality and identity for the clone which could act as an agent to further Mutre Bee’s ends (it should be emphasised that all MBO clones and creations including General Honey have a complete and unbreakable loyalty and obedience to the Mutre Bee). This resulted in the eventual takeover of New Sparta and domination of the UNP in 2122.

Combating the Mutre Bee could be virtually impossible. Leaked documents have revealed the MBO have a distributed architecture including the parts which produce the Mutre Bee clones. Multiple locations can create new clones, even General Honey can be rebuilt with a full record of his memory in days.

It is thought that Mutre Bee clones can vary greatly in their level of sanity, some clones in the past have been barely able to function though the current one is pretty ruthless and clear minded (on the whole). A future clone could be the complete opposite though.

MBO to open three more drone production units in UNP space

The Mutre Bee Organisation is to open three more drone production units in UNP territory it has been announced. MBO drones are genetically engineered life forms created as Mutre Bee's foot soldiers. Most of the drones will be General Drones which operate MBO warships and auxiliary tasks. Some will also be MBO Commandos who form MBO ground forces and special forces.

It is thought the units will only operate at a minimal level for the time being. It is estimated there are around 250, 000 MBO drones attached to NS and also stationed on UNP planets. Once all units are fully operational then (including the existing unit) up to 20, 000 new drones could be created every day.

Mutre Bee visits Starbot and issues threat

The Mutre Bee's fleet has appeared in the Starbot system. S101 and B-B were ordered to travel to the Mutre Bee's new flagship The Hive. There it is understood they were threatened by General Honey to not offer assistance to the so-called Real DDS. The Starbotians have denied they have done this though some sources say it is an open secret that Starbot has supplied Windy's rebel faction with assistance.

Honey said that if Starbot continues to assist Real DDS then they will face "serious consequences". The Mutre Bee fleet has now left the Starbot system.

The Mutre Bee visits NS GHQ

Amid a massive security operation involving dozens of warships and hundreds of troops from the NSTF and MBO, the head of the MBO has visited NS GHQ. The Mutre Bee travelled in his gigantic new flagship the Hive. In what must be seen as a considerable show of force the Hive, a ship big enough and powerful enough to take on a fleet all by itself, was accompanied by no less than 12 Hornet heavy cruisers and over 30 Nectar destroyers.

The Mutre Bee was given a tour of the command facilities of New Sparta and held talks with Viceroy Caratore. He also met with a representative of the UNP. The Mutre Bee is understood to have already left NS space.

Dinos develop fractal DNA "scrambler"

The Dinos have said they have developed a DNA "scrambler" that uses fractal noise to make the scanning and duplication of a subject's DNA signature impossible. The scrambler, said to use nano technology, has no detected side-effects or performs no harm on the subject though medical tests are continuing. 

The technology could be used to protect senior members of the Dino state from Mutre Bee style cloning attacks. However, the technology is said to be years away from deployment and a power like the MBO likely already has the DNA signatures of key targets secured.

MBO capital ships given NS operating codes

The NS fleet already operates Sting 58A fighters and Nectar 52A destroyers, though these are part of the NS fleet. MBO ships of the same types which operate in UNP space are also given reporting numbers for administrative and traffic control purposes. For example, an MBO Nectar currently stationed near Solaris has been numbered 52-532.

The two largest types of ship in the MBO fleet have also been given NS operational codes for the same reason. The Hornet heavy cruiser / command ship has been granted the code Hornet 33Q (the reason for Q at the end of the code is unknown). The gigantic new flagship of the MBO fleet (which has yet to visit the UNP) has been granted the code Hive 29Q.

Viceroy Caratore has met Mutre Bee

NS has confirmed that Viceroy Caratore met Mutre Bee last week at an unspecified point in deep space. Caratore travelled there in his newly refitted and updated flagship SS Jurassic, they rendezvoused with The Hive which is the new flagship of the MBO fleet. It is said to be a gigantic warship far larger than even the likes of Provider and Extender transports.

The content of the talks has not been revealed. Mutre Bee may visit NS next year though nothing has yet been confirmed.

General Honey visits NS GHQ

The Mutre Bee's trusted deputy, and his head of operations, General Honey has made an unannounced visit to NS GHQ. He met with Viceroy Caratore and his two deputies, Zeppelin and The Shiner. General Honey also inspected an MBO Honour Guard barracks which is being built at GHQ.

It is thought the Mutre Bee himself will visit New Sparta later this year.

Clones begin mass DNA scanning

The Clone Star Empire has begun mass DNA scanning for Mutre Bee clones (of Clones, which makes things a bit confusing). It is thought the Clones were given scanning technology from the Dino Empire, some of which was given to them by the rebel Torus. A Clone Defence Forces spokesclone said that all space ship crews, nuclear weapon crews and other senior personnel will be scanned very regularly.

In a public event the Troika was scanned, Oojok said that scanning would ensure the security of the Clone Star Empire. Some insider sources say that the Clones have become very paranoid after the MBO take-over of the UNP.

NS surrenders to MBO

VP (Facilities) - and acting President - The Shiner has formally ended the war with the Mutre Bee Organisation by signing surrender terms aboard Caretore's flagship which is now heading to the Proxima Centauri system. All NS units have been ordered to stand down from full alert and resume normal activities were possible.

Caratore said that he would be taking over control of NS as Mutre Bee's Viceroy. He said that NS' mission would continue, over "light oversight" from the MBO. An MBO squadron would be stationed in the Proxima system though would only be there for support. Caratore said that all MBO clones would be deactivated in a "short while". Caratore said that if NS accepted the new regime then clones would no longer be needed.

Caratore did not say when the five LRMs would be deactivated. The LRMs have an active life of over six months before they will require resetting thus they will be useful to keep as the ultimate sanction to ensure NS and UNP obedience.

Rubick Cube Warrior appointed to lead NS task force

President Torus has appointed Rubick Cube Warrior, one of the fleet's senior ship captains, to command the task force being sent to face the Mutre Bee fleet. Windscorpion would usually be the choice to lead but he was badly injured in the second battle of Nemoka. Another candidate, Akbar is leading the NS ships helping the Raegris against the Terrasaurs.

Rubick Cube Warrior has a great deal of experience, including for a time leading the Rapid Reaction Force. However, this will be the first time he will be leading such a major fleet into battle which has concerned some analysts.
