The UNDF have begun a study into upgrading and life-extending it's fleet of twelve Nectar 52A destroyers. The MBO designed ships are highly regarded with crews but MBO content including the engine, power systems and many auxiliary circuits means that there are question marks as to the long-term viability of the fleet as spare parts run out.
The Nectar X study is looking into the feasibility of rebuilding the ships with key MBO content removed including the engine and power system.
