UNDF Commander Torus has cancelled the Black Triangle programme. Two have been built plus another two were in an advanced state of construction plus two others in an earlier stage. Torus said the two nearly finished ships will be completed but the other two will be used for spares. Torus said that UNDF would continue with more conventional types of warships.
The Black Triangles will be retained in the fleet though it is not known what their role will be. It could be they are kept for training and development. The single Rainbow tender will also be retained though any others have also been cancelled.
