The Isometric fleet of frigates is the backbone of the DDS patrol fleet but is not due to receive it's ILU (Intermediate Life Update) until the end of the decade. Patrol Command has won funding to give it's Isometrics a smaller update to keep them going until the ILU rebuilds. The update is known as Isometric System Enhancement (ISE) and will begin later this year. The update includes system and equipment updates especially to tactical systems. Some of the updates will be from the Terran Sea frigate.
The ships will also receive more wireless system connectivity, though the ship will not receive Open Architecture 2.0 as this will require an extensive rebuilding (and is going to be part of the ILU). Its expected ISE will include some degree of FIDO however.
