NS warns of new Mutre Bee base near UNP space

Despite dropping the alert status to AMBER, NS has discovered evidence of a possible new Mutre Bee base near UNP space. How NS know about this base is unknown but it is thought to be after analysis of encrypted communication channels. A Depender intelligence gathering ship has been conducting deep level analysis of these channels, though any attempts to decrypt the channels have not been successful.

VP (Ops) Torus is thought to have assembled a dedicated rapid reaction force of bombers and cruisers ready to attack the base at very short notice.

NS develops sniper version of DAR-L1 laser rifle

NS has introduced into service a sniper version of the NS standard laser rifle the DAR-L1. The DAR-L1XR has a boosted power output and a new optical targeting sensor to allow for accurate shots at up to 7km (depending on atmospheric conditions).

Sixty Prowler special forces soldiers are receiving training in the new rifle. What is not clear yet is the reason for this new capability.
