Mad Medic made Vice President in charge of DSA

Mad Medic has been promoted to Vice President (Biological Integrity) or VP (Bio) and the director of the DNA Screening Agency. This is an indication NS considers DSA to be a long-term and probably permanent fixture to New Sparta with an expanding role in monitoring and protecting the "biological integrity of New Sparta".

While the Mutre Bee clone threat seems to have reduced NS think that it could easily return if DSA ceased scanning all NS and relevant UNP personnel. A second generation DNA scanner is currently in final test before being rolled out to DSA Agents. The new scanner is faster and also had improved security for data transmission to DSA HQ.

DTA and Bolitic sign non-aggression and economic treaty

Many never thought this day would never come but the Dinos (as part of the Dino Trade Association) and Bolitic Confederacy have signed a non-aggression and economic treaty on Sirikwan. Under the terms of the treaty signed by MBH and Melson both sides have pledged to not engage in combat operations against the other for at least ten years. There will also be a direct communication line between the Dino Army HQ and Bolitic Imperial Command.

More importantly though for the Bolitic, with it's crumbling economy, will be trade and investment. The DTA will invest fifteen billion koleks (around eight billion zarks) in the Bolitic economy as well as providing assistance in converting the Bolitic economy from it's military focus.

A number of Bolitic have accused Melson of treason though not as many as once would have been the case. A former UNP ambassador to the Bolitic has said that most Bolitic have now accepted the dire state of the Confederacy, which is in danger of becoming a third-rate power. The recent military operation against the Utrek was a case in point, around half the operational fleet was used in the operation - with fuel drained from the other half!

Second Windscorpion monitor to be delayed to 2123

Construction of the second Windscorpion class monitor ship is to be delayed until 2123. This is being done as a cost saving measure. The current ship SS Windscorpion is due to enter heavy maintenance in 2124 and NS will need a second ship in service by then to take over it's duties.

It was rumoured that NS would cancel the second ship but VP (Ops) Torus has confirmed NS will build a second ship.
